Has anyone stayed here the night before the cruise? How close is it to the port? Are the facilities pretty nice? Is the beach private right outside the hotel or is it public? Is there shopping and other activities around the resort? How much can I expect to lose in the casino? lol

We stayed there a few years ago when they were working on the hotel and even during the construction we loved the hotel. We had a room with a partial ocean and a city view (we were in a corner room). We got there at about 3pm and got checked in and up to our room. The room was very clean and a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. We attempted to wander around the shops near the hotel (Walgreens down the street), but the rains (and I mean a heavy rain) came through and we ended up going to the Marriott’s restaurant and had a nice meal. The waiter (Carl from California) was wonderful, great service. There were a few people at the pool/beach bar, but no one at the beach. Since we had a red eye flight we were so tired we went to sleep very early. The next morning we woke to a beautiful day. We went back to the same restaurant for their buffet breakfast which was included in our rate and it was very good. We then hit the beach area and pool which we enjoyed.

When we sailed it was on Princess and we caught a taxi from the hotel. The driver did not speak English and we kept telling him Old San Juan, but he took us to the RCCL ship. He was not happy when he figured out his error and our ride back to the Princess ship was quite scary:eek: , he was a very aggressive driver, but we made it safely. The taxi fares are all set rates, I don’t think ours was more than $15-$20.

Our donation at their casino was about $20, we stopped after that.

We would stay there again.

Hope this helps with your questions.

It's a great hotel & a great deal on Priceline. We stayed there 1 night a year ago precruise & will be again on Fri. Top flight room with flat screen TV, new bedding, view of ship. the pool is to die for. Tuscany restaurant downstairs was verry nice & good food, not overly expensive. Starbucks across the street. Didn't try the casiono. Only neg was the band was a little loud in the lobby. I think you'll love it.

I'm thinking about booking this hotel for pre-cruise October 24th. It is $157/night with on the Marriott website. That is with a senior discount if anyone is interested.

I'm a huge fan of priceline but this seems like a good price. And you don't have to pay that extra priceline fee.
