jhinjhin Posted April 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2008 How far and how hard (expensive) is it to get to the Gardens from the port in Victoria? I ask because the admission price is only $25.60 per adult at the gate yet the NCL tour charges $70 PP - can't imagine the bus ride is worth that much. c-to-sea Posted April 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2008 The Gardens are about 16 miles from the cruise ship terminal. A taxi there and back would cost you close to $70.00 alone. A 3 hour Gray Line tour is over $50.00, including admission. If you are on Norwegian Pearl, the stay in Victoria is only 6 hours and the ships excursion is strongly recommended as it is the only one the ship will wait for in case of any delays. The Gardens can be quite busy in the evenings.

Budget Queen Posted April 22, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2008 With your 6pm port time, you are best with a ship tour. As mentioned it's a distance from the cruise dock, allow 30 minutes.
DisneyScrapper Posted April 22, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 22, 2008 Another best to be safe then sorry --go with the ship. The gardens are breathtaking. A not to miss for sure.
SakeDad Posted April 22, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 22, 2008 I agree with the other posters. This was the only excursion I booked through the cruiseline. We were only in port 6 hours and I didn't want to have to keep looking at my watch wondering if I was going to miss the ship:eek: While it was a bit expensive it was worth every penny, we got back in time but with only about 30 minutes before we sailed. If you want to see the Gardens book through the cruiseline and RELAX.:D
