Funship Dollar Certificates

KP&BP

Recommended Posts

We are sailing Sunday on the Legend - a vacation right after my last day on the job. My co-workers and boss gave me $500 in Funship Dollar certificates!! I am speechless...however, when I called Carnival to register the certificate numbers to apply to my onboard credit, I was told my only option was to go directly to the purser's office after boarding and handle it there. I am concerned it is too late to use them...has anyone had to redeem the certificates onboard and what was your experience? Thank you!

You can apply funship dollars once onboard- I would NEVER EVER mail them in-- which is what you have to do if you want them applied before sailing.

I know there is a claimer on the back that says they must be mailed--- but i never did

I used them for every one of my cruises. If you dont spend it all you will get a check the last day-- you can cash the check at the pursers desk-- or take it home.

(PS__ You dont need to have it applied the first day== wait til dinner time the next day= less crowded

Can fun ship dollars be used towards gratuties? the Carnival website says no, but from what you say it sounds like they are just like cash.

My kids got them for Christmas from grandparents and I had them put towards their sign and sail. They bought stuff in the shops, got some fancy drinks, and used it in the game room. I wish I could remember when I actually put it towards their cards...but I think it was shortly after getting on the ship while we were taking care of room key issues. I know it was easy though...

What a wonderful gift for you... upgrade dinner one night, go to the spa, and treat yourself to a sail away drink of the day...ENJOY!!

I dont have a credit card-- i book my cruises so far in advance that I am able to buy $25.00 dollars each month- by the time I cruise i got a fair amount accumulated. Yes-- funship dollars can be applied to everything onboard-- including the casino with a 5% surcharge if you go to the casino cage

I bought funship dollars for the past two cruises and also for one of the two cruises I have booked now. I just go to the pursers desk sometime (usually the first day) and they were added on my account. I just buy them each time I get paid and it works out great for me.

Maybe one of you can help me out. I started a thread about this yesterday, but didn't get any response. My employeer is going to get me a gift certificate and I don't have my cruise booked yet. Can I use it as the deposit?

yes- there are two options on the first page either onboard credit OR deposit for a cruise.

<<This certificate is good for the value printed on the face of the certificate. It may be used towards the purchase of any Carnival Cruise Lines cruise or as an onboard credit. See important information under the terms and conditions printed on the reverse side. This certificate expires and has no value after>>
