SDPadreFan Posted April 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2008 This is not good news for those that like to slam Carnival. Thinking of one board in particular.
mom2girls Posted April 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2008 Out of the 3 lines that I have been on Carnival is my favorite, so I'm not surprised!
babyher Posted April 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2008 Just got back from my 3rd Carnival cruise and I have loved every one of them. I laugh at these boards sometimes (not just this one but all of them) Post after post of dress code police and child haters and whatnot. Makes it sound like you are going to sail on a floating penal colony. Nothing can be further from the truth. I always find lots of nice friendly people just having a great time :)

Don't get too excited :) It's Fodor's Guide EUROPEAN Cruising. The Carnival product in Europe is quite different than Carnival in the USA.... Meaning that there are people who wouldn't be caught on Carnival cruise out of the US, but happily book Carnival for Europe/Med cruises. It's a different product (ships/service/on board amenities, etc)

The Carnival product in Europe is quite different than Carnival in the USA.... What??????????? They don't strip out the room , the beds, the supper club, the dining room cuisine, the fitness center, the family fun atmosphere, & the entertainment when they come back home to the U.S. I've cruised both Caribbean & Europe with Carnival. On any of their newer ships a cruise with Carnival differs only with the ports visited. Just MHO.

Boatdrill Posted May 1, 2008 #11 Share Posted May 1, 2008 Some of the ships are the same in Europe and the U.S.A. They just switch home ports with the seasons. Yes, that's true. However the passenger demographics are different in Europe than in the US. So it becomes a different cruise experience/product. This is acknowleged by the cruise/travel industry (even the crew !) and those in the US who find the Carnival fares for Europe attractive, but hesitate to book because of Carnival's reputation in the US. It's not surprsing that Carnival/Europe won praise from Fodor's.. they have a great product there.
