Casino addicts what is the best

Recommended Posts

itineraries and NCL ships that permit the longest time for the casinos to be open. We just got a nice offer from CAS for casino credits if we book a cruise between now and June 15th. Would cruise in Oct. or Nov. There are some nice deals going on now, but they are Alaska (doing that July "09) and Europe (can only do 7 to 9 days cruise) and Bermuda. I've read that Bermuda doesn't give much time to be in the casino and I have never been on the Majesty---what's their casino like?

If anyone can give me some ideas I'd appreciate it. We have been on Star, Pearl, Sun. Would do any of the Caribbean again. What would a Canadian/New England cruise be like in Oct. besides beautiful sightseeing? Haven't heard how casinos are on Dream and Dawn either.

Thanks,

Round Trip Hawaii is nice. Last year we were on the Celebrity Infinity San Diego/Hawaii/San Diego for 14 days, 9 1/2 at sea.

OP can only do 7-9 days.

I think you're looking at caribbean.

The casino manager on the NCL Star told us that on the Hawaiian cruises you can not gamble, at sea or otherwise. He told us if they use one of their ships other than the ones specifically designated for the Hawaiian cruises, they actually have to rip the casino out of the ship.

You can look into going on the NCL Pearl in October on the Western Caribbean. There are full days at sea. We are booked on that one Oct 19th.

Nice to see we aren't the only casino addicts around.. HEHHEHHE

Can you gamble on the Hawaii cruises? I thought they didn't have casinos for Hawaii. Or is that just for around the Islands:confused:

If you sail the Pride of Hawaii on NCL, there is no casino on the ship. No gambling in Hawaii at all.

The casinos are open for sure on the California round trip to Hawaii, within 30 minutes of leaving every port and for 9 or 10 glorious days at sea. I can assure I would not have been on a ship for 14 days with NO casino. However, you are correct that the 7 day cruises originating in Hawaii and making the island circuit are NOT allowed to have casinos. We were on Celebrity's Infinity originating and ending in San Diego.

If there are a few people playing the tables they will keep the casino open until they reach port. Usually til 3-4 am. Most gamblers are long gone by then. There are snacks usually in the casino between 11-12:20 am. fingerfoods and dessert. The majesty is a small ship and not much action. Go for the larger NCL ships.:)

that is true but if you start your cruise out of SF or Encenada the casinos can stay open until your reach the islands.

Now how do I convince DH to let me cruise for 14 days without him:confused: I plan on taking my DS with as DH plans on a fishing trip to Alaska--AGAIN! Think there is a fair trade off somewhere here.

Thanks everyone for the info, but still wondering about the Canadian/New England cruise.

Might think about the Pearl as really like that ship and casino.

Please keep your ideas coming.

Another thought is to research the ports you stop at and see which offer casinos closeby i.e. Paradise Island in the Bahamas etc.

That way you will get more experienced and better dealers than on the ship.

To answer your questions. The Dream casino same as the Wind which you have been on. Dawn like the Star. Now if you can do one more day, 10 days on Jewel from NYC dong Canada in Sept/Oct. A great ship and 4 full sea days to enjoy the casino.

Ya know, Retired, we seem to have an awful lot in common. My hubby doesn't want to join me on a cruise either (he will come with me if I want him to). We should think about having a nice long gambling cruise together WITHOUT them ;) . LOL just kidding... I am still looking too, summer may be out so I am looking for October/Nov as well. I definitely don't wanna do the Canada/NE route myself, am looking at a transatlantic maybe. Keep those ideas coming!

Now this one also has me interested, since I've done all of the Caribbean, and Mexican Riviera it might be time to try something new. Plus a different ship. Thanks Bigdog49, going to have to ck it out.
