Do You Go In The Pools?

Recommended Posts

We always use the pools. We learn to board with a swim suit in our

bag. That way we can change and go swimming when we are still in port.

Often we go to the back pool later at night if its been warm.

It's that cold salt water in the pools that attract the sharks:p

Last week there was a fatal shark attack in San Diego, water temps out here are 59 to 64 degrees, the shark was a great white shark due to its size. There was also another shark attack down in Mexico this past week.

With the depletion of the sharks food supply out in the deep and an abundance of seals that migrate on the coast of Southern Cal there is no doubt that they will go after cruise saltwater Pool passengers next.

Another reason why I won't go in the pools on the ship. And, the hot tubs aren't safe either .... Piranhas. Especially in the covered decks that cause humidity levels to be high and create a rainforest effect.

Hot tubs are alot safer then the pools because they use a filtration system to keep those cuda's and piranhas away. The only problem with the spas are those floating babe ruth bars

Are you bored tonight Fred ?? :D

We always go in the pool on sea days to cool off. One always tends to have more people than the other so we use the less occupied one. Always say we're gonna try the hot tub but never seem to get around to it. We have one at home that we use almost everynight so we're spoiled by the water temp we like and knowing who and WHAT's been in it before us ! ;)

we were on a cruise in february, and they refill the pools everyday I believe.....so they were cold. You could get in and they were fairly empty, but it was very difficult to go any further than thigh deep. Certain areas were not too happy with the water temp. I tried once and then optioned to the hot tub.

When the pools are crouded... I always sneak a Baby Ruth into the pool to clear some of the people out... at least I always claim it's a Baby Ruth... :D

I have a sudden urge to go watch my Caddyshack DVD.

We go in the pool at least every other day. They do seem cold when you first get in but showering first helps with the shock a little bit. We love the salt water but DH still sinks like a stone.

Yep, we alternate between the pool and the water slide to cool off. I'm not real comfortable with the hot tubs. We see too many people drinking beer and staying in them way to long. Also on our last cruise, dw and I were up early, 0530, watching the sun come up. There was a couple in one of the hot tubs soaking and moaning at the same time.

Gah! Ew, you kids need to get your minds out of the gutters!!

Hee hee ... floating chocolate bars, beer filtration, 'soaking and moaning'?!?!?!

I guess people use the water of a cruise ship for many, many things! :D

I don't think that this thread makes me want to jump into the pool ... and it definitely makes me think twice about the hot tubs, too!
