Hilton Newark Penn Station

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Is it easy to get into NYC for the day if we want to sightsee? We will be taking the ship's transfers to the port the next day so we don't have to worry about transportation. Does the hotel have airport shuttle service from the airport?

Haven't stayed there but have passed it many times while driving to the Prudential Center. It is walking distance to Newark's Penn Station--very close. From there it is a short train ride into New York's Penn Station (34th St. & 8th Avenue)

you can also take the PATH train to the World Trade Center or you can change trains at the PATH Pavonia or Journal Square stations to get to 33rd street and Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave.).

I'd go with NJ Transit from Newark's Penn Station to NYC Penn Station. That brings you to a few blocks within Times Square if that's what you're looking for.

The train is definitely faster, but more expensive. $7.00 round trip off peak. You can ride Path anytime for $3.50 round trip. You can get to 32nd and 6th (Herald Square - Macy's) on Path, only 1 avenue from Penn Station. You can also get to the World Trade Center.

The Hilton Newark is attached to Newark Penn Station. You can take either NJ Transit or Path to NYC. Very convenient.

Hi, yes we stayed at the hilton, caught the bus from newark airport, took us straight to penn station and the hotel is just outside. We then booked in,grabed some food and caught the train into manhatten. Did empire state building macys then train back, no problem.
