Phone & Internet Center at the Pier!!

There is a great phone and internet center past end of pier where you dock in St Maarten.. it's above Diamonds International (I think that is it).. back from the first couple of buildings, there is a sign on your right. and it's upstairs.. air conditioned, nice guy there is the attendant.. NOt sure re internet rates but they have a bank of phones that you can use and a phone card good for 30 minutes that was just $12. Much much cheaper than onboard ship and a good place for us to make midweek call to check on doggies, house etc.

They don't really publicize this yet but maybe because it's new....

Cyberlink's Sunday hours are 10 - 4.

They've posted new hours: Sunday is 10 - 3.

However, I came in yesterday (Sunday) at about 10:30 and every station was in use.

To phone the US you purchase a $10 card that gives you 32 minutes.

  • 1 year later...

Just got back from cruise to St. Maarten March 2006.

I was able to pick up a strong 4/5 bar signal from

http://www.caribserve.net/services/WiFi/WiFi_main.htm

from the top deck of the ship. $10 for the day. I didn't do an official bandwidth check but I would estimate 200K.

I have found that the hour before clearance granted and the hour prior to the ship leaving is an excellent time to access the internet from your notebook (if one must). I was able to use the phone service skype to call several friends in USA at only 2 cents per minute off this wifi connection.

It was the only time I logged on all of the week cruise and was well worth it.
