Host Caroline Posted October 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2004 There is a great phone and internet center past end of pier where you dock in St Maarten.. it's above Diamonds International (I think that is it).. back from the first couple of buildings, there is a sign on your right. and it's upstairs.. air conditioned, nice guy there is the attendant.. NOt sure re internet rates but they have a bank of phones that you can use and a phone card good for 30 minutes that was just $12. Much much cheaper than onboard ship and a good place for us to make midweek call to check on doggies, house etc. They don't really publicize this yet but maybe because it's new.... tumper Posted October 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2004 Thanks for the info ! Do either of these places sound familiar- Was it the "MNU CYBER CAFE" or maybe "CYBERLINK COMMUNICATIONS CENTER" ?
gtaylor Posted October 13, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2004 I'm at Cyberlink right now. I have an account since I'm here for a month, but was able to get an hour for a friend visiting this week at $3.00 all we had to do was ask. Posted rate was $5.00 for 15 minutes. texasgirl Posted October 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2004 Where is Cyberlink? Can you tell me what their hours are? It would be perfect for me if I could find internet service as early as 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday.

gtaylor Posted October 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Cyberlink's Sunday hours are 10 - 4. They've posted new hours: Sunday is 10 - 3. However, I came in yesterday (Sunday) at about 10:30 and every station was in use. To phone the US you purchase a $10 card that gives you 32 minutes. KenP Posted April 3, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2006 Just got back from cruise to St. Maarten March 2006. I was able to pick up a strong 4/5 bar signal from http://www.caribserve.net/services/WiFi/WiFi_main.htm from the top deck of the ship. $10 for the day. I didn't do an official bandwidth check but I would estimate 200K. I have found that the hour before clearance granted and the hour prior to the ship leaving is an excellent time to access the internet from your notebook (if one must). I was able to use the phone service skype to call several friends in USA at only 2 cents per minute off this wifi connection. It was the only time I logged on all of the week cruise and was well worth it.
gtaylor Posted April 3, 2006 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2006 Since this old thread has popped up, I need to point out that Cyberlink (mentioned above) appears to be out of business as of early last year.
