sassy,

stalking is not my thing sorry to dissapoint you. if you dont want someone or a few others as it seems to bust your balls about things than a little advice would be to maybe not give out e v e r y single detail of your life to strngers on any web site especially all your finacial issues, complaints etc........ you put yourself out there in the first place and if you dont like the negative comments people tend to leave you than dont put yourself in the position to recieve them. that is exactly how alot of us knew who you were on sail off because you let everyone know who you were and who andy was I dont think you left anything out about your life except your bank account number maybe next time you wont be so eager to let every person know toooooo much about things we dont really care to know about in the first place it gets really anoying after a while ,but your young you will figure things out along the way. happy marriage ,many blessings, healthy children, and least but not last m a n y m a n y naps. chow

I have been reading and trying to stay out but.....who's the adult here? Both cheermom and mommyof4 claim to be older and wiser than sassy but they are acting like 1st graders. If I read a review that I don't like, I just move on (which is probably what I should do here, but who doesn't love a cat fight?) I am not attacking the moms, just saying...lighten up. This has gone far enough. Would you want your kids acting like this?

Sassy, congrats on your wedding and cruise.

I rarely comment - but this thread is ridiculous. If you don't like a review - move on. Sassy obviously you had a wonderful wedding cruise - the way you wanted it to be. It's your wedding day and honeymoon - and you shouldn't regret one minute of it. We also honeymooned on a cruise (Fantasy in 1990). After the planning, excitement, and stress of a wedding - we also took a lot of "naps". It actually became the joke at our dining table with our tablemates. Congratulations to you both. btw - I love Target too!

Back to the topic of this thread....

Embarkation went relatively smoothly for us. A few in our particular group had some issues but everything was resolved for the most part.

We had the early dinner seating, upper level Pacific Dining Room. With our table of 11, our wait staff handled everyone quite well I thought. Food was better this year than last, even the filet.

Our cabin stewards did their job, nothing over the top but we didn't ask for anything extra from them and were completely satisfied.

Bar servers were friendly and took very good care of us.

Saw the magic show and one late night comedy show. Others in our group said the comedian was funnier at the earlier shows. I appreciated the fact that although his subject matter was adult-oriented he did not have to use the famous swear word to get his point across.

The passengers in the dance club and piano bar seemed to be having a good time when we looked in.

Cheapest cruise in the casino for me this time around. Still spent too much time there. The entertainment at the casino bar was very good.

Not thrilled with the big screen on the Lido deck and dismantling of the stage. Lido deck band was ok but there was very little interaction with the passengers.

Overall found the ship to be clean. No sewer smells or messy public restrooms.

Of course there were some lines for the breakfast buffet but that was just our lousy timing.

Plenty of appetizers and beverages at both the Captain's Cocktail party and past cruisers party.

Although I didn't want to leave the ship, the disembarkation process took too long. Some fans for air movement in the baggage claim area would have helped.

Met lots of nice people from both this board and just in general. A few kids, probably aged 9-11, a little out of hand but nothing major.

We definitely got our money's worth and are already planning for next year.

Thanks for your review! I'm really looking forward to seeing your pictures!

We're getting hitched next year on the Victory & I would love to see how they set everything up!

Congratulations!

Ok first off let me say congrats to the 2 that got married and to the 2 that have "the event" scheduled for next year. I would also like to ask a question before I give my opinion of this thread. How long was your cruise for and about how much money did you actually spend onboard? The reason I'm asking is because we are leaving on sunday from Norfolk and want to make sure I have the S&S and Shore money divided appropriately.

Now for my comment(s)...to Splash. You're too funny!!

To the ones that want to belittle the review...IT'S A REVIEW (get over it). I personally read reviews and take little from them unless it's stated in alot of different ones. I also assume that the "naps" weren't always just sleeping. After all they were just married and that's what "adults" do.

Ok I'll get off my soap box and see if anyone will give me an idea of what I'll need for sign and sail. Neither of us drink and only gamble seldomly. I'd rather not tie up too much on sign and sail when it could be spent on port....gotta love vacationing on a budget. Too bad our target doesn't open until July so we have to stick to wally world and K-mart heehee.

Re: sail and sign, figure $10 per person per day for (automatic) gratuity, so this last cruise (7-nights) it was $140 for the two of us. Other than that if you don't drink or gamble, it just depends on your vacation shopping needs. This last cruise we didn't purchase any gift items on board, but did spend around $60 on the photos taken by the ship photographers.

Don't know if this helps at all, but regardless... HAPPY CRUISING.

hey bigfoot, thanks, i'll be here all week, tip your servers........

our cruise was 7 days/6 nights. it was great! a nice long relaxing cruise. we sailed elation nov. 06 and it also had 3 ports and the same (more or less) on board activities in 5 nights so it felt like there was usually a little bit more going on, just crammed into one less day ya know? the sea days are fun but the does get tiring, seeing i work outisde all day at my job so i get plenty of sun.

anyway if you don't drink a whole lot or gamble your on ship purchases will be most likely be towards gift shop/jewelry/beauty shops on board. prices are reasonable except gift shop tends to be probably 30-50% too much i think. 10 bones for a coffee mug? reeealllllly????? there are some good sales towards the middle and end for beauty and jewelry stores there though. except for the costume jewelry maybe, you can get the stuff at TARGET!!! for like 10$ get it there it's a good deal at 2 for 40........but ya know how it is. ummmm they have the specialty coffee shops and the gelato place too. they cost a few bucks or so.

at ports, depeding how much stuff you buy. we spent maybe 250$ in all the ports. well, maybe like 200 i guess. a few shirts, some coffee in jamaica and so on........gifts and souvenir stuff. i'd say brink 100$ with you at each port at least if you see something that catches your eye.

you might have cash going out as tipping as well, auto tipping or self.

hope this helps......

edit: oh, like habby said, pics........(see below)

Splash....Guess you made a BIG splash when you went overboard that last nite...You said your cruise was 6 nites. Correct me if I'm wrong, but our Victory cruise was 7 nites. Me thinks you had too much tequila that last nite;)

Thanks for the support some of the people just tunning in dont know how to read and keep asuming we are ragging in on her because of her review that actually is not what its all about so i guess let them think what they would like, anyways I hope that you can understand what I am writing since accourding to one my writing skills are of a degenerate but perhaps my typing is to fast and not having as much time as others to sit here and type all dayi tend to do it quit quickly, anyways did you say that you were on the same ship or were going to be taking the victory sorry didnt remeber.

What we thought was easiest was not to book ant excursions through carnival but if you choose to by all means go right ahead, travelers checks are great to keep seperate from the other cash you might have on hand this way if you do have many excursions as we did we had used those checks to pay for that and cash for the other stuff.

The other good thing to maybe do is make sure you bring plenty of 1$ and5$ we had 50 of each because sometimes you tend to do a little more tipping especially for your head waiter and your room steward, luggage people etc living in vegas for a while you learned that tipping is a big thing so we figured the same for this trip.

I f you dont drink god bless you because that can cost a lot but then if you do like to have a few coctails here and there just pack it in your suitcase and bring a big plastic mug with you to fill it with what you like. I would say to be on the safe side allow yourself at least a 1000.00 to go on your sail and sign card you may not end up using that much but its always good to allow yourself a little extra just in case, you never know when your spouse might surprise you with a wonderful massage and facial as mine did for our anniversary that was great by the way. i know that right off the top you are being charged 70.00 pp for gratuity and then there is some port charge fee now but its only a 1.00 something no big deal, but remember the card you have is used for everything and some people dont realize until they slip that bill under your door at 5 am before you leave that you are sitting there going what the hell did i buy, but if you leave yourself with a little extra you will be fine,we did that and were not worried at all at the end we did spend a bit though but were not surprised at the end.

Every moment on this cruise was great not much time for sleeping ther is always something to be doing you wont be disapointed at all it is well worth the money you spend which actually isnt that much at all for this type of vacation, and as for the singing and dancing waiters they were a stitch if you dont like that sort of thing hit the buffet but you wont have as much fun. happy sailing
