Est. time needed for tender return in Sitka

I know if you have an excursion booked in the AM you get priority boarding of the tender, but I need to know how crowded are the tenders returning to the ship? About how long is the wait for a tender before departure so I can plan an later or longer excursion? We will be there about 11 hours.

Tendering took no time at all. We did not have an excursion booked, as soon as we walked to the tender area, we got on and off we went.

 

Coming back, it took a little longer, mainly because of the pouring rain, the lines were long, but moved pretty quickly. It was pouring though, so everyone was heading back to the ship at the same time.

 

We never experienced any "cattle calls" on HAL as we had on other cruise lines. You will find that everything runs smoothly. At least that was our experience on the Oosterdam.

Just be in line, prior to 1/2 hour before the scheduled departure. You will make it back to the ship. Some returning tender lines can be VERY LONG.
