Napi's Mom Posted June 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2008 With the price of everything going through the roof, can you tell me if the very reasonable airfare we received for our 1/18/09 N.Z./ Aust. cruise will be locked into the price we have on our contract (invoice), or can they add surprise surcharges like the fuel supplement?? One of the reasons we could afford the trip was the special airfare.
ccletzgo Posted June 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2008 Every airline is now adding charges for checked luggage. Some airlines say it depends on when you purchased your ticket, (before the fee started) and some airlines are starting fee's on a certain date with no consideration of when the ticket was purchased. Some airlines charge for water, so I say, until you are actually checking in, you never know what new fee's will be added. :( Very reasonable airfare, when you find it, is still worth buying now. The airfare its self wont go up..
Moeve Posted June 6, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2008 The catch is it is the TICKETING date and not the NOT THE BOOKING date that counts. now if you book throught cruiseline - they typically do not TICKET until they send you your final documents. That means you are open to higher fuel prices only or any changes in policy that may have been "grandfathered" for existing tickets.
