Thanks to all you wonderful, experienced CC people I know to check the price of my cruise. Well, I have been checking and today I noticed both the interior and balcony on our Glory cruise had dropped so I called Carnival. Guess what-we're getting $72.00 per booking, so that's $144.00 OBC in all!!!:D The CVP suggested we use it in the casino, and we may just spend some there, but first DH will get his mojito and I'll have a pina colada. Thanks, guys, you're an awesome bunch and I'm learning so much.

You beat me to it, Pam, that's just what I was going to say! Just a little trick I picked up from the knowledgeable folks here!

Me too! Isn't it great! My SIL called me last week cuz she was thinking about a cruise this Fall. She has not been on a cruise since her honeymoon nearly 3 decades ago:eek: After I talked to her for about an hour answering all her questions I told her to check out this site cuz this is where I get a lot of good info. So she got on the site while we were on the phone and she was so excited to see the wealth of info here!

I have an obc credit question, if you book thru costco and the prices drop, can you ask carnival for the obc or are you just out of luck?

Sorry, I have never booked through Costco. Not sure if that is like booking with a travel agent or not. You might call and check with Costco and see what they say.

I thought i asked them and they said there isnt anything they can do. I wonder if carnival would give me the obc?

I used an outside agency and when I saw a price drop they called Carnival while waited on the phone. We went back and forth a few times but I ended up getting what I wanted :) Good luck

Where do you go on the website to type the promo code in?

When you go to the Carnival website and select the cruise you want, then click BOOK NOW and on the next page, you fill in the DP3 code...click NEXT and it will show you what upgrades/discounts are available. Hope that helps!

That is fabulous news. Go and have a terrific cruise. Enjoy those 'free' drinks.

How to check prices:

1. First, if you are automatically logged into the carnival website when you go there, you will need to LOG OUT. Otherwise, it will think you are trying to book the same cruise again.. I learned that the hard way.

2. Now that you are looking at a fresh carnival.com website, click on the links that help you "plan a cruise" or "book a cruise". Then select the exact cruise you are wanting to check.

3. When you are looking at the page with the exact cruise you want to price out, click on "Select this" or "Book This" or whatever the link says.

4. The next page will give you the option to fill in either a promo code, or your past guest number. Put "DP3" into the promo code section (with no quotation marks), and hit enter, or click "next" or whatever it says.

5. The next screen is where your information is. It will show you the prices for your exact cruise using the DP3 promo code.

6. Here's what to look for: Check the room category that you are currently booked on. IS the price lower on the website? Call your TA or Carnival and tell them you'd noticed the price has dropped, and you will get either a partial refund or OBC.

Voila! I just scored a $80 credit on my cruise this week!
