MESPal Posted June 9, 2008 #76 Share Posted June 9, 2008 I have tried and tried and no luck on the Carnival site. I guess this means that there is no code for the Fantasy on 6-28. It just keeps saying that the code is invalid. I wish we could have gotten a little relief. Oh well... Missy
Kiera99 Posted June 9, 2008 #77 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Since I booked a 4 day on The Imagination (booked 4/10..sailing 7/10/08) For 4 people I have ...drum roll......$570 OBC :D All from price drops. I check online everyday..it actually just went UP $20 today. The question is how am I going to spend $570 in just 4 days;) BUY, BUY, BUY!! There are nice shops on board. Good for you. sjg1002 Posted June 9, 2008 #78 Share Posted June 9, 2008 I'm new to this so sorry in advance if the question has been answered. I was wondering if there was an OBC that we could get even though the cruise is paid in full? My TA said that we could not get a credit because of that and I just wanted to check on here. Everyone always has a correct answer for me. This is my first cruise so I was not sure! Thank you! Yes, you can get a credit even after having paid in full. Just did it myself. The only difference is that I booked thru carnival (not a TA). I book thru carnival for this very reason. If the price drops, it's easy to get a credit. I would call your TA and have them do a 3way call with you and carnival if possible. Good luck. Girltrips4ever - thank you. I just don't know how to do that since they are my future grandparents. I talked to them today so I'm not sure how they would take it. But, I did not pay for the cruise my future in laws did and want them to get the most money back that they can. In total we have 12 people sailing including fiancé and myself. Can anyone think of away to do this graciously?
wagboss Posted June 10, 2008 #79 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Can I use a military discount with the previous cruiser upgrades?

I'd go with honesty. Just mention that you've noticed cruise prices are dropping significantly and ask if they've considered contacting carnival. As you said, it really isn't your pocketbook but anyone would love to save money and I would think that you would just be coming across as concerned and helpful. I would hope that no one would be insulted by your suggestion!

Smudge49 Posted June 10, 2008 #82 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Just wondering how far in advance prices typically drop. We are cruising on the Inspiration Aug. 16 and I haven't seen a price drop yet. I also booked our cruise on a sale day so I was wondering if maybe we just got a really good deal? Thanks for all the good info...we are getting really excited and glad I booked when I did with the price of gas going up.:D
fllady61 Posted June 10, 2008 #83 Share Posted June 10, 2008 wish my cruise would drop so we could get an OBC, but I think we booked it at the lowest price.

sms30519 Posted June 10, 2008 #87 Share Posted June 10, 2008 It says DB3 is invalid code??? The past passenger code is DP3. If it still says invalid that means there are no offers for that particular cruise but keep checking as that can change.
Ken076 Posted June 10, 2008 #88 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Rockee4055 - Carnival only offers Past Guest Discounts/Upgrades on selected (not all) cruises; if there's no Past Guest offering for the cruise you selected you'll get some kind of "error message" for the DP3 Promo Code. To experiment, try 4-day Bahamas "Sensation" out of Port Canaveral 30 Nov 2008 and see what you get! Ken
christine222 Posted June 10, 2008 #89 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Hey guys, Just wondering about these OBCs. Are you already booked on the cruise? Where do you enter the DP3 code to inquire about upgrades and OBCs?? Sorry, I'm a newbie. Only 3 cruises so far, but very excited about my Glory cruise (4th cruise) the end of this month. Thanks for all the info!! Christine
ALLMYKIDS3 Posted June 10, 2008 #90 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I check the prices on Cruises.com. It is fast and easy and the same prices as Carnival as long as you look at what category you booked at (before the upgrade.if you got one)for example I booked at a 4A price but was upgraded to 4C ..so I always look at the 4A to go down. The price shown is cruise fare only. I keep a log of any price changes. I know this sounds crazy ..but that is how I now have $570 OBC :p

You might check to see if they have created any new classes with cheaper fares but for same room type.

CheepWrent Posted June 11, 2008 #94 Share Posted June 11, 2008 I am going on an Alaskan cruise in September and thanks to the wonderful info on this thread...I saved $400 on our fare AND we went from an 8A to an 8F balcony! This is money we can now use towards the hotel cost we have pre and post cruise! More saved to use towards our spending money! :D

CardiacRN Posted June 13, 2008 #97 Share Posted June 13, 2008 Does anyone know if price drops/obc's are ever given to (9a Cat) cabins? (aft wraps) On our last cruise I was really lucky and had a few price drops but on this one there are none to be found, however the ships not full either....... Thanks in advance... allgeeteredup Posted June 13, 2008 #98 Share Posted June 13, 2008 Unfortunately, the Conquest keeps going up in price. My husband and I booked back in August 2007 for our September 2008 cruise. We got the military discount so we paid $629 per person for balcony. No fuel surcharge. The same room booked today is $999 per person and $9 per person per day for fuel surcharge. So, we have already saved $866 on our cruise. It may not be OBC but that's a lot of money. Have others experienced the same sort of savings? We're seeing similar savings for our Spirit cruise in November that we booked last Jan, the fare keeps going up; which is not unusual as a particular cruise begins to fill up, and as the departure date gets closer..
