Water temperature in the winter

We are planning a cruise in the Carribean in Jan 09. Is the water warm enough for snorkelling? Is there really any temperature difference from winter to summer? Will probably go to Bahama's, St Thomas, possibly Mexico. Thanks!

No there's not much temperature difference between Summer and Winter.

Maybe ten degrees at most, although it feels like 25 to us island-locals.:D

 

Big joke among Barbados-residents...

that we rarely(if ever!) go for a swim between Christmas and Easter.

Why? Water's "too cold".

Instead of being 85...it's 75. :eek:

Waaay too 'cold' for us locals, when we know we have it right here all year round,

...we just wait til May or June and it'll be warm again!

 

 

In answer to your question: Yes, the water will be warm enough for snorkelling.

Compared to where you are, it's warm.

Bring your snorkelling gear and come.
