B'smeme Posted June 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I'll be sailing on June 27, Rhapsody of the Seas to Alaska. I've got transportation from the airport to the ship, but not sure about after the cruise is over & we get off the ship. Are there shuttles waiting for people that don't have reservations? Should there be enough time to get to the airport for a noon flight? Any info greatly appreciated.
springtxbill Posted June 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I would get a taxi. That is what we will be doing. See you on board.:)
wrp96 Posted June 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2008 There will be a long, long line of taxis waiting to greet the ship. I think I saw one shuttle but that was it. With a noon flight I would make sure you are in one of the first groups off the ship. You can follow the links in my signature for compasses where I have all the disembarkment day info for Rhapsody scanned.
tally10 Posted June 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2008 You could also make arrangements beforehand with a taxi company or hired car service. We have done that many times and in many places upon debarkation.
cb at sea Posted June 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Smart taxi companies know when the ships come in, and are waiting for passengers--you don't need to make arrangements in advance.
springtxbill Posted June 10, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I have always compared the taxis meeting a ship to a feeding frenzy for sharks. They are not going to miss out on quick easy fares.:)

I agree with you. However, if you are worried about that "feeding frenzy," it is nice to come out of the debarkation chaos to see your transportation waiting for you personally (your name on a sign in hand). wrp96 Posted June 10, 2008 #8 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Having disembarked Rhapsody in the last 2 weeks, I will tell you that absolutely a taxi is the easiest thing in Seattle. You have to walk past the taxi line to get to the shuttle/private car pickup area. We literally walked right off the ship and were in a taxi without any waiting at all. minnow12 Posted June 10, 2008 #9 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Does anyone know what the cost of a taxi is from the Rhapsody pier to the airport? They'll be 6 of us so we'll probably get 2 taxis.
