Live From the Dawn to Bermuda - 6/8/08 Sailing

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Live from the Dawn here. Seas are smooth as glass and the weather has been fabulous. Just a few facts:

2.0 is almost completely implemented. Some of the cabins don't have the upgraded bedding yet. Also, all the coffee makers in the suites will be changed out to the expresso machines. Another thing that hasn't been published much about 2.0 is that there are no long pool games at the pool. NCL realizes that most people are on vacation and want to relax. So, the music is softer and not the typical party type by the pool. They still do games and such, but it's on the sports deck instead.

The CC M&G was absolutely fabulous. The Hotel Director, Hugo, The CD, Pedro, the Food and beverage director (can't remember his name), and the Assistant CD all attended. Pedro is getting ready to go on vacation. So, his assistant will take over.

All the menus have been upgraded. So far, the food has been delicious. Lobster tails are served on Monday night in the main dining rooms. And, whole main lobster is available in Cagney's every night.

Yes, there is a $10 cover charge for Impressions. But, Salsa is still free (but, reservations are recommended).

Armando is our butler and he is wonderful. He has paid attention to so many little details (like leaving the one bed in our 2nd bedroom down so our DD can take a nap). The concierge is Anca and she is great, too. Ravi (our butler from last year) stopped by earlier today to say hi. He's working on Deck 9, now.

I'll try to log on a little later to provide more details. Any questions, just ask!!!

Anca and Ravi are great. F&B director's first name is Alain.

If you want to see Anca smile, ask her if she has any toga's left over from last week's party. (We gave a toga party last Friday -- it gave White Hot Party a new meaning!)

Have a wonderful cruise.

I'm so jealous! Glad to hear you are having smooth seas. Did you hear anything about the casino being open onboard after 10pm? I was wondering when this would start.

Ravi is the best!!

Thanks for posting

Barb ~ Ravi did mention you. I'll ask Anca about the toga party. She's great.

nyflush ~ do you mean the casino being open while in port? Not until 2009. But, while at sea, the casino has not closed at all. Did very well at roullette last night, in fact. The party in the casino was awesome!!!

Oh, that reminds me. Yes, all house drinks are free in the casino as long as you are a "Casinos At Sea" card-holder and you ARE gambling at the time. So, no specialty drinks. But, I'm not THAT picky about my gin and tonic!!!

OK, logging off now. I'll get back on in the next day or two.

2Cruise4Ever, glad you are having a great time. We will be getting on when you get off next Sunday. 4 couples traveling together, the "girls" all in our 60"s are first cousins. We drag the husbands along to pay the bill. This is our 3rd cruise together to celebrate life, 3 of us are breast cancer survivors. Do you know if the bedding on deck 10 has been upgraded yet?

2Cruise4Ever - so happy that you are having a wonderful cruise!

Our good friends Jean and Woody (SolidGold Cruiser) are on your cruise with their daughter and grandchildren. I know they attended your "meet and greet". If you see them tell them that "whippets" says hello!

Have a great cruise and keep us posted how everything is going.

We are also getting on when you get off. I’m busy doing the count down dance! Thanks for the tip on Lobster in Main Dinning Rooms Monday. Question, what were the people wearing on Monday. I understand that is the Dress up or not night.

Curious about the 2.0 upgrades around NCL-U lectures/workshop stuff...

What kinds of daytime activities are they now offering? Any different that before? Thanks and hope you are having a terrific time! Trying hard not to be too jealous  LOL

Can you find out from Hugo if he'll be on board in July? We're hoping to connect with him while we're in Bermuda.

Hugo will be there until the 3rd week of July, I believe. Then he'll be going on vacation.

2Cruise....You are increasing my case of PCD (post cruise depression) terribly! We just came back last Sunday.

Please give Hugo and Anca a hug from Barb & Paul as well.

Enjoy your cruise! (I'm sure you will!)

Kevin ~ they have a drink of the day each day. I brought home all the Dailies. I will post them up in my webshots account in a couple of days.
