anyone removed from or thrown off of ship?

Recommended Posts

I saw two "gentlemen" being removed from the Navigator of the Seas in Cozumel (April 2005). The very nice dog with the vest on, past the metal detector, took a very keen interest in them and their back packs. The dog's handler had them detained. They were right in front of us getting back on at the pier. While we were on our balcony, about an hour later, we saw them being escorted along the pier by local authorities. Some of the souvineers they were trying to bring home were probably not legal. ;)

We were on the Mariner Eastern sailing two years ago in 2006, and there were a group of 500 men, called the Bears. Well, other people on the ship got mad or annoyed or both, and anyway, there were several conflicts with them, and a lot at night after people got a few drinks in them. Anyway, I could see why they were mad, because they were hanging all over each other, displaying way to much public affection, especially for male couples and the many many young children on the ship.

After Cococay, the next day was a sea day and we heard that there would be several people that were forced to leave the ship in St. Thomas the next day because of their actions, and there were a couple families that voluntarily would leave the ship because of the men.

After that, we noticed that the last two sea days RCI shut down the solarium and had it reserved only for their group, which got more people mad, some even wanted to start a petition (witnessed that poolside).

The Board Police will knock anyone that brings up a topic that has been discussed. Ignore those folks, the board belongs to all of us.

Ask away!

Watched an entire family wave goodbye, seems the teenage son thought the deck chairs could float.

On my first cruise I went on NCL Spirit out of NYC to the bahamas. I didn't realize it when I booked it, but it was during spring break. There was a whole group of frat guys acting up on the sail away party, throwing stuff overboard and just being obnoxious. I didn't see them much for a couple of days and then on the night before nassau, I saw them in the casino, being really rude to the waitresses, touching them where they shouldn't be all the while being loud and obnoxious. Later that night they were running up and down the halls, banging on doors and then in the morning when we got off the ship, we saw the whole group of them on the pier with their luggage, a couple of them were crying into their cell phones about being kicked off the ship for no reason and they were stuck in nassau. They deserved what the got in my opinion, I wish that during sail away when the first plastic novelty glass went overboard that the captain would have reversed the ship and kicked them off then.

On the Zuiderdam we saw a family being packed up and sent off the ship befofe we ever left Fort Lauderdale, their teenage son was smoking the funny stuff and it could be smelt all down the hallway.... Security was in searching his room when we went to ours. Glad I wasn't that young man:eek: when his parents found out and were told to leave. Great start to a cruise!

On the Azamara Journey last November, Miami to Sao Paulo, several men from a 'well-known jewelry store' in Rio were soliciting some of the passengers for free tours in Rio. They were offering free tours of Rio in exchange for the passenger to visit the jewelry store in Rio. Our first port of call in Brazil, they were all basically "kicked off". They turned up, though, in the terminal building at the following port in Brazil and told the passengers not to worry, "everything was still on for their free tours in Rio". Many people on board took the tours and were happy with their day.

On our January cruise there was an older couple with son/stepdaughter and apparently the youngins decided to purchase something illegal in Jamaica. Dad decided to stay behind with them because the youngins were being taken to jail, so Mom had to hurry and pack some things for them before the ship left!

Not a good idea to bring or purchase anything illegal if you don't want to get caught! Doesn't everybody know it's a setup in Jamaica!!!

We watched a few folks on the SoS get barricaded in their rooms by security... they had a JS and we'd walk past the security officers who were stationed in front of their rooms and just giggle. We did offer to bring them some food and drinks, but they declined (and we did anyway, which they seemed to appreciate very much). Once we hit Nassau, they were escorted off the boat.

Never found out what happened, but were impressed with how seriously RCI takes potential incidents of bad guest behavior.

We've seen an entire family escorted (unhappily) from the Schooner lounge for letting their rug-rats disrupt the Karaoke contest! They weren't thrown off the ship, but as mad as they were, I doubt the rest of their vacation was much fun for them!

We were on the Caribbean Princess a few years ago during March, so there were several groups of spring breakers on board with us. Apparently one group decided to get trashed while we were on St. Maarten, and they passed out on the beach and missed the ship departing that afternoon. Our next stop was on Princess Cay, so one of the guys who got left on St. Maarten phoned home to his parents and got a private plane chartered to Eleuthera (where Princess Cay is located) and met up with the ship there. They were on our tender back to the ship that afternoon and they were hooping and laughing about the whole experience.

Only one problem with that: they left their passports, etc. in their staterooms when they deboarded in St. Maarten, so they didn't go through customs correctly to re-enter the Bahamas. They were warmly greeted once we got back to the ship by a couple of officers, were told to get their belongings out of their room, and were promptly flown BACK to St. Maarten, since they couldn't stay in the Bahamas.

I never found out how things worked out with them.

Wow...wonder how mummy and daddy reacted after they found out they paid for the private plane only for the kids to be sent back to St. Martin...and then had to pay for transportation from St. Martin back home again. That was an expensive lesson.

Our whole family was thrown off the Mariner this past March. It was on a Sunday morning and we were just getting settled in. They made us leave and gave our cabin to someone else. Bummer.

In April we were on Brilliance of the Seas doing the Panama Canal. The ship was detained because 2 or 3 men (passengers) tried to smuggle drugs on board. They were caught coming thru the scanners and taken to jail in Panama. I wonder if they are still there?:)
