karena1 Posted June 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Have the cab driver stop at Pueblo's on the way in from the airport. Full grocery with everything you need. It is right off the main highway coming in from the airport so very easy to stop there. One of you stay with the cabbie while the other runs in to pick up what you need. We do it all the time and have never had a problem with it.
waterbugohio Posted June 17, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted June 17, 2008 OK, but where would this be. We are coming in friday afternoon. Staying at the El San Juan friday night. Will taxi to Old San Juan all saturday morning (will store luggage) then around noon will taxi from old San Juan to Pan AM pier, that is when we will want to stop. karena1 Posted June 17, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2008 You could still stop on your way in and pick the stuff up and just keep it in your hotel overnight. Otherwise, if you are going to be in OSJ all day, there is a smaller Pueblo's right downtown in the plaza. I don't know how much the store at the pier carries, but I do know the Pueblo's downtown carries water/soda/juice/snacks etc. So you could go there before you get your cab back to the ship and just have the cab pick you up at the store. There are cabs all over the place in town so you should not have to much trouble finding one.
waterbugohio Posted June 17, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Karen, thanks, I was wondering about a Pueblo's in Old San Juan. I would really rather not have it the night before, it would just be that much more to drag in and out of the hotel and that much more to check while touring saturday morning. CB, What is the store like at the pier??

chazg Posted June 18, 2008 #10 Share Posted June 18, 2008 I don't remember any stores near the Pan American Pier. Where where they? I remember the Pier being isolated from almost everything else and noting in walking distance.
