MI-DI Posted June 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Could any of you experienced HAL cruisers tell us how the motion is on the very forward suites on the Navigation deck. Thanks
sail7seas Posted June 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2008 We are almost always in mid-ship "S" suites but one cruise had to take 004 on Veendam.....Ryndam's sister. Last suite left for a cruise we really wanted to take. We thought we'd feel lots of motion but it was fine. We were very comfortable. Remember that forward of all the passenger suites, are Officer cabins and then the bridge on Navigation Deck so though it is forward, it is not as far forward as the deck plan could make it seem. DesertDogs Posted June 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2008 We stayed in S002 twice and never noticed any problems with motion. Love the location! :)
gophercruiser Posted June 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Our preference is for the most forward suites as these do not have any Lido overhead chair scraping, etc.Our longest cruises in these suites have been a pair of 31-36 day and never felt there was any "motion" problem that couldn't easily be handled. PathfinderEss Posted June 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Last year we were in a more center cabin on the Navigation deck, I believe it was 016 and then a few weeks later we were in 002 which is the most forward passenger cabin on the same deck. On both cruises we did run into some high seas and I will say that being in the middle was a lot more comfortable then being in 002, it wasn't all that bad but better in the middle. Krazy Kruizers Posted June 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2008 The last few years we have always booked either 002 or 004 - the most forward cabins. We love them. When the seas are rough, you will feel the motion - actually the entire ship will feel the movement. Otherwise -- you won't feel anything.

Krazy Kruizers Posted June 18, 2008 #9 Share Posted June 18, 2008 002 and 004 are under the beauty and we have found that to be very quiet.
