mom2girls Posted June 18, 2008 Author #27 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Why are some of your posts almost double the size of my monitor? Great pictures! Hmmm, I don't know why they're bigger than the monitor. I'm not having a problem. I'm using my laptop which I believe is a 15 inch monitor. Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. mom2girls Posted June 18, 2008 Author #28 Share Posted June 18, 2008 We didn’t really do much after the show. We were kind of tired so we went back to our stateroom. I was a little bummed because we didn’t get a towel animal the first night. When we got to the room we sat out on our balcony for a little while just enjoying the wonderful sea air. Here are some more pictures that go with our first day on the Legend:

Al was making fun of me b/c I was upset :p Love your review so far! can't wait until you get to Cozumel ;) We didn’t really do much after the show. mom2girls Posted June 18, 2008 Author #34 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Thanks everyone for the compliments! :D I was very appreciative of the reviews I read before boarding the Legend. So, I am doing this for those sailing her in the future. Tess: I've been to Cozumel 4 other times, but this was the first experience with C&C. Yes, it's something I will always remember. So my review continues: This was a picture of the beginning of the Welcome Aboard show. Another of the Colossum (sp?) I forgot to add that on the first night there was a comedian that performed after the show. He was absolutely hilarious. I strongly recommend seeing Thomas Brown if you ever get the chance. 2nd day: Day at Sea I was surprised when I woke up to find that it was 8:00. I’m not usually one to sleep in, but apparently I was tired and the gentle swaying of the ship helped rock me to sleep. We decided to go up to the Lido deck to have some breakfast. I ended up having an omelet. Our meet and greet was scheduled for 10:00 in the piano bar, so we went to the room for a minute before the meeting. As we were walking out the door the phone rang. I forgot to tell you that our phone rang yesterday too. We were surprised as we hadn’t told anyone our stateroom number. Anyway it turned out to be the Public Relations director. (She said she looked at the guest roster until she found my name.) She wanted to make sure we didn’t need anything special for our meet and greet that was scheduled for the next day. I told her we weren’t really looking for anything special. We just wanted to meet the people we had been talking to for months. Anyway, it was just 10:00, and she was calling to see if I was coming. No one was there yet. I told her we were on our way. Not everyone from our roll call showed up, but we did have a pretty good turn out. I am happy to have gotten to meet those who did come. I think it’s great that Carnival went to such effort to make sure we were accommodated.

mom2girls Posted June 18, 2008 Author #36 Share Posted June 18, 2008 After the meet and greet I wanted to lay out by the adult pool, so that is where we headed next. My boyfriend is not one to lay out in the sun, so he wandered the ship while I relaxed. There’s nothing like the gentle breeze you feel when a ship is at sail. I felt as though I were in heaven. I was there about an hour and half, and decided I was bored. I found my boyfriend, and we headed to the Lido deck for some lunch. After lunch we wandered the ship for a while, and ended up in Satchmo’s for the Trivia contest. We were late, but it was still interesting to see if we knew any of the answers. After the Trivia contest we went to the Follies Theater for the Love and Marriage Game. This was a funny show that had the newest married couple, the oldest married couple, and a couple that were getting married when we got to Grand Cayman. I was kind of surprised that this was during the day since it was at night on previous sailings. After the show we went to check out the gym. Russ wanted to actually work out. (I can do that any time I want while I’m at home.;) ) I wanted to spend some time in the Jacuzzi.

I too love the one of the Skyway with the rainbow... and I love that dress you wore on Embarkment Day! Thank you! I call that dress my cruising dress. I've worn it twice now for embarkation. It's very comfortable, and of course goes with the cruise theme. Froufie: Yes, sailing away under that bridge is an amazing sight!
junebug8 Posted June 18, 2008 #39 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Great review and pictures! Love the Sunshine Skyway picture--I spent every summer in St. Pete (outside of Tampa) with my grandparents and drove over that bridge many times. What an amazing sight.:) Can't wait to hear the rest of your review. Your review and others of the Legend makes me want to pick it for our next cruise. mom2girls Posted June 18, 2008 Author #44 Share Posted June 18, 2008 By this time we figured it was time for a nap so we headed back to our stateroom for a well needed rest before getting ready for the first formal night. After our nap we decided to hang out on the balcony with our bottle of champagne before getting ready for dinner and the cocktail party. I’ll have to say that being on a balcony in the middle of the ocean with a bottle of bubbly has got to be one of my most favorite things to do! :D Before dinner we went to the Captain’s Cocktail Party. We had a wonderful time there. I tried a Whiskey Sour, didn’t really like it though. I switched to Champagne after that. Our waiter was awesome. I must have had at least 4 glasses of Champagne before we went to dinner. We didn’t really care too much for the appetizers, but we knew that dinner wasn’t too far away. mom2girls Posted June 18, 2008 Author #45 Share Posted June 18, 2008 After the party we went to the Casino for a little while. We didn’t want to have to wait in line to get into the dining room like we had done the night before. We headed to the dining room at about 8:20, and walked right in without having to wait. Of course, the food was wonderful. I ordered 2 lobster tails since I knew they were small. I also had the Pumpkin Soup. I always order pumpkin soup when I’m on a Carnival ship since I can’t seem to get it anywhere else. Yum! And, you probably guessed it! I had the chocolate melting cake for dessert. The waiters did a wonderful show for us. They really seemed to be enjoying themselves. mom2girls Posted June 19, 2008 Author #46 Share Posted June 19, 2008 Later, we went to the Jazz show. The costumes were phenomenal. (They also seemed to change them very quickly. But, either the food was making me sleepy or the show was. I don’t know which. I had wanted to stay up to watch the comedian because last night’s PG show was hilarious. I knew we had an early day tomorrow in Grand Cayman, so we decided to retire to our stateroom for the evening. Upon arriving in our stateroom we were pleased to see that we had a towel animal tonight. :) I could now go to sleep resting easily because I knew that my towel animal would watch over me. :D Next up is Day 3 in Grand Cayman. The waterproof one I believe is Sanyo. (I'm not positive though.) The other one is Sony. I have no idea which models they are. I'll ask him tomorrow. mom2girls Posted June 19, 2008 Author #49 Share Posted June 19, 2008 Day 3: Grand Cayman We woke up bright and early this morning. I was excited about learning to dive. My boyfriend was ecstatic about diving again. He booked the beginning course because he wanted to dive with me. (Isn’t that sweet?) I went out on the balcony. I was a little worried because it was gray and overcast. But, I figured hey we’ll be underwater anyway, so what does it matter? We went up to the Lido deck to grab a quick breakfast. Then we went downstairs to catch a tender. We had to meet our tour group at the pier. We arrived at our meeting spot about 10 minutes early. It was quite crowded with tour groups meeting. There were also many different vendors offering their own excursions. We waited a short time until we were picked up by our tour leader. mom2girls Posted June 19, 2008 Author #50 Share Posted June 19, 2008 After a short bus ride we were at the dive shop. They then divided the experienced divers and the beginning divers. The experienced divers went off in a boat because they could dive in deeper areas. The beginning divers were given some instructions. We then were sized for fins. We rented a locker to put our belongings in because we were not going to go out on a boat. We were then instructed while in a swimming pool. I liked this because I was a little nervous about going out in the sea water. I understood all of the directions we were given. I answered all of the questions correctly. But, I seemed to have a major problem with breathing and my nose. I was fine while in the pool. But, I was worried what would happen when we were in the ocean, and I could not come up to the surface. My boyfriend was very sweet and told me it was ok if I didn’t dive. The instructor was awesome. He offered to let me snorkel with them instead. He also asked me if I needed a vest because we would be going out pretty far. I am a pretty strong swimmer so I declined the vest. There is definitely a silver lining to the fact that I couldn’t dive. We have a waterproof digital camera that cannot go more than six feet down. Since I was now snorkeling I could get video tape and pictures of Russ while he dove. The pictures did come out pretty well. They were much better than the ones we took last year with our disposable waterproof camera. We were in the ocean for about an hour. We had a WONDERFUL time.
