dog sledding w/o helicopter

Has anyone done an excursion out of Juneau that has dog sledding without taking a helicopter ride? Was it any good? I need advice on which company to use. Thank you.

I'm booked with the Seavy's in Seward. I don't know if you'll be in that area, but they get rave reviews. They use a wheeled cart that's used to train the dogs for the Ididaride.

We don't go to Seward, only Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and Victoria. I can't find any non-helicopter dog sleds in these ports! Ugh! :confused:

I know both Ketchikan and Juneau have non-helicopter dog-sledding. I'll try to find the links to their sites. What cruise line will you be on?

I'm sailing on the NCL Star to Alaska on 7/26, and I haven't been able to find dog sledding on snow/ice w/o a helicoptor or plane ride included. The only dog sledding I've seen offered, w/o the helicoptor, are the kind that have the sled w/wheels and go on dry land. I'm really not interested in that. I would like to dog sled on snow, but unfortunately, I think in July you have to take a plane or helicopter to do that.:( No biggie! There's lots of other stuff to do. However, if anyone does know about an excrusion to dog sled on snow w/o the helicoptor ride, I'd love to hear about it too!:D
