39august Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 When I got my e-tickets 4 weeks ago, I looked on the RCI board to see what was substitued for Labadee. At that time, Grand Bahama was shown. Today, I looked at the itinerary and now Nassau is shown as the last day of the cruise. I don't really care which port, but it is important to have the correct info to research possible activities for the day! Luckily, I now have a week and a half to research Nassau options! mdennis123 Posted April 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I'm not sure what we are going to do in the Bahamas. I still have to research that. cruisldy Posted April 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Our neighbors are now on the Brilliance sailing that left on March 29 and returns on April 9 and they will be in Freeport in the Bahamas tomorrow, the last day of their cruise. I'm sure that due to fine print all that could change on any future cruises. Sheila Likes to cruise twice as much for half the price.
stretch Posted April 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2004 That's a shame, we really liked Freeport when we were there in March. Nassau is really nothing except for Atlantis and the straw market. mdennis123 Posted April 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Is Atlantis worth the $$$$. I see the excursion, but not sure if it will be worth the money they are asking. Now, if you were allowed to use the water features, then that would be different. You don't need to get the excursion to take a taxi over. If you go early or late enough, you can walk around the hotel. If they send you out, you've missed walking around a hotel. The beach is OK - and you can use the beach, just not any of their facilities whether you buy the tour or not. To get the use of the really good stuff, you have to take a room at either the Atlantis or the place next door. Work like a dog. Live like a pauper. Save all your money. Then Cruise! mdennis123 Posted April 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Thats too bad. Is it worth getting a room at the place next door? Are meals included? Maybe the beach instead for the day. Nancyquilts Posted April 10, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Just back from the March 29 sailing. We were all set to visit Freeport, but found out at the checkin that we would be going to Nassau. We hadn't seen Atlantis yet, so took the water taxi over and wandered through the hotel. After the casino there is a cafe area surrounded by glass-fronted fish tanks. No one said anything when we walked down to see them. We walked all over the grounds, and saw the shark tanks at the Mayan temple there. We had asked in the casino about the aquarium features, and were told it was a $25 charge. We didn't pay anything, but we probably didn't see everything either. It was enough for us. We took a regular taxi back to the ship, as I was tired of walking, and the water taxi is a good 10-15 minute walk from the Atlantis.
