Info on driving the Haines Highway

I'm considering renting a car for the day in Haines and driving up the Haines Highway for some sightseeing. Any suggestions or experiences? I'm having difficulty finding a good guide or map for the route.

We did this earlier this month and had a really nice day. We had printed the guide linked above, as well as having the Milepost description of the drive (we ordered the Milepost at amazon.com and just took copies of the pertinent pages with us for our Haines Highway day). The Milepost description was wonderful. Hope you enjoy the drive as much as we did -- I highly recommend the burgers at the 33 Mile Roadhouse!

It is a beautiful drive. Look for nesting swans, and be prepared to go quite slowly if you encounter fog or low cloud at the higher elevations.
