jhannah Posted June 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2008 Those books are worthless, IMO. There's nothing in there I would ever use. If you search this forum for "coupon book" you'll find threads that discussed these. Here's one of them.

Krazy Kruizers Posted June 26, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2008 We have never gotten one of those coupon books. But I have looked them over on this site. Worthless to us.

Free drinks? discount in the logo shop? etc etc I have never seen one but I was just about to guarantee that it wouldn't be for free drinks... BigBearLady Posted June 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2008 I want to know what I can do with the onboard coupon booklet worth $340. A TA is offering me that, but I want t know what I can do with it . Free drinks? discount in the logo shop? etc etc They would make a good coaster! My TA gifted them to us when we arrived on board. There wasn't one single thing that interested us. I brought them home with me and dropped them off to the TA, saying I thought maybe she could hand them to any of her other HAL clients. While on board, I went to the front desk to see if I could exchange them for anything else. The nice lady looked them up on her computer and said they were listed as "no value", and I could not exchange them. It seems even HAL doesn't think much of them:rolleyes: By the way, each coupon stated they were not valid beyond Feb. 08 and I received them on our cruise in May/June 08. The front desk said they would be honored. I guess they couldn't get rid of them fast enough!! One of the coupons was a free glass of champagne if you purchased a bottle of wine $60 or more. Another offered a free souvenir glass is you purchased a "drink of the day". Whoopie, like I want to carry home a plastic glass:eek:

I don't have the coupon books anymore, but I remember that to get a free glass of champagne, you have to buy a bottle of wine at $60 minimum. And the free cigar requires purchasing a glass of cognac! The free glass comes with a purchased drink. I just think this so called "gift" is really worthless IMHO:eek:
RlrCstr Posted June 26, 2008 #9 Share Posted June 26, 2008 Just yesterday I got the confirmation from my TA of what the coupon book is worth: A while back when I booked my Zaandam Hawaii cruise for next February, the coupon book was the "premium" being offered. I told my TA then that it was useless and I hoped that the agency could substitute something I might use. He mentioned that there would be other things later, and not to worry. Yesterday he confirmed that the present "premium" of a Dinner at the PG and an additional $25 OBC was confirmed for me. Better than a coupon book that I would not use.
