BarbaB Posted June 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2008 Can anyone recommend one tour over the other? We are torn as to which one to take in conjunction with the lumberjack show. Thanks barb
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2008 We have been to both and enjoyed both very much. If you want to see more totem polls, then Totem Bight is right for you. If you want to see how they are made, then Saxman Village.
Jemima Posted June 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2008 The day of the week will make a difference. Our Saxman tour was on a Sunday. The carving building was open, but no one was working on a totem. There were a couple of young men there, but they were just doing other work. Like KK, we've been to both Saxman and Totem Bight and enjoyed both.

BarbaB Posted June 28, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted June 28, 2008 Thanks! We will be on the Westerdam, so it will be Friday when we visit Ketchikan. Since DH just said "I know how they are made" to which I answered "carved", I guess maybe we'll go to Totem Bight:D Thanks again Barb
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2008 Enjoy your time at Totem Bight and the Lumberjack show. You leave early so watch your times. We did your cruise in May.
craftymom914 Posted June 29, 2008 #7 Share Posted June 29, 2008 We did Saxman and Lumberjack Show when we were 2 years ago and really enjoyed both. Besides seeing all the Totem Poles, and visiting the carving room, there was a wonderful program/show by the residents. The Lumberjack show was directly across from where the ship docked. Yes it was a bit theatrical, but when else are you going to see something like that? It was fun! Enjoy!
