Can you bring soda on board?

Wow, cases? I wouldnt do that. Maybe a 6 pack of coke or something. I dont want to fill my bags with soda/water. :D

We brought along those little 8 ounce cans (24 of them for the kids - and I gave in and took some in weaker moments). It's a good way to control the soda my kids drink. I don't like the idea of giving them soda cards. I also like the idea of having soda in the room, especially since the mini-suites have fridges. On my last cruise, I had to find extra room in the mini-bar.

Yes, no problem, especially if they do not sell the brand you enjoy.

When we were on the Diamond Princess in March, we were allowed to bring on as much coke and beer that we wanted. They just passed us right through. The security person told my husband that it was perfectly ok to bring your own beer. So, we bought a 12 pack of each coke and beer.

That could be true, but for me/us, I/we would feel like taking on things they sell onboard is what will soon limit the items we all can carry with us. Abuse of the priviledge is what will take it away completely, so we are quite careful as to things we carry on, that the ship already sells.

Think back when others were putting a luggage tag on cases of wine, they now limit (or at least their rules state this) you to one bottle per person. There have been a lot of things that they are watching for now that used to be taken onboard without problem. We just try not to abuse the privledge so maybe they won't limit everything. IMHO of coarse. ;)

Two cruises ago, we took a case of bottled water on board. I just slapped a luggage tag on it and it was delivered to our cabin with no problems. I learned though, that I hardly used any...maybe five bottles at most. Last cruise, I didn't bring anything on board. It's just as easy to get water/soda on board, rather than dragging it with you.

This is true, but this is also for our room, we still buy when we are walking around the ship or in the Casino. I personally drink Non-Alcoholic beer, and they do not carry the brand that I drink, so to bring my own is not unreasonable and I am not taking away from them in the slightest. When they get $5 for a can of Coors light that my husband drinks, I think they more then make up for what we bring on board.

There were many people complaining that they didn't have Pepsi on board, so when we were in port, they brought some back. I usually drink 2 cokes a day. I do not drink alcohol, but, this trip I may just break that rule and have a Pina Colada, I love those things, :D

You can always get a "virgin" Pina Collada too. :) I agree, very good!

Please take some advice from a long-time grocer...When packing canned soda, remember that the cans are very thin and do break at inconvenient times. No-one wants a soda explosion.
