The lock is up high and it would be difficult for a younger child to reach it.

I was just thinking the same thing...there was a thread over on the Dis that several people (including my husband, the rocket scientist (for real)) admitted having trouble opening the door. Either we thought it slid and it opened like a regular door or the opposite. Either way, it was funny.;)

Glad I found this post! This was one thing I was worrying about for our upcoming cruise! My two can seem to figure a lot of things out, hoping that they have a really hard time with this one lol.
