judyjudy56 Posted October 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2004 We will be in Victoria in June 2005 from 7PM until Midnight and are wondering what you can do at night. Are than any shopping areas open that late. It will be a Friday night. Are there any tours that operate at night. I imagine it won't be light much later than 8:00 or so. Are there shopping areas that are in walking distance of the pier? Any help you can give us would be great.
YOW Posted October 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2004 Seeing the parliament lit up in the evening is nice. Dinner or drinks next door at the Hotel Empress. In June you're looking at light until maybe 10pm, it's fairly north!
Urban trekker Posted October 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2004 Most stores will be open to at least 9PM on a Friday and some of the ones catering to the cruise probably even later - take the shuttle bus from the pier to the inner harbour and shopping areas - around $5.00US and you can return on the same ticket In June sunset isn't til after 9PM so there should be light until around 10 - 10:30 PM Victoria is very much a tourist town and quite compact - take the shuttle from the pier to the inner harbour and just walk around - Bastion Square - Chinatown - Bay Center are all real close. There will probably be a special evening trip out to Buchart Gardens. Hope this helps Dennis
