Bara Harbor - help with Bus routes!

Hi All,

 

I am wondering if anyone could help with the bus routes in Bar harbor. Specifically, when we come in on a cruise ship, where do we pick up the bus (ie, what stop) and what route is that on?

 

So if we want to go from the cruise ship to Thurston's Lobster Pound (just an example) which is on Rte 7, how would we get there?

 

If we wanted to go to another place on route 3, how would you get there?

I agree that the web site is great, but to use it I need to know where the tenders arrive and which stop is nearby,

The Island Explorer (IE) loads and unloads at Bar Harbor's town green which is a 5-10 minute walk up Main St which is the first street off the tender dock that is perpendicular to the water front. 5 minutes if you do not window shop :(.

Walk up Main St to the town green and board a rte 7 IE letting the driver know your destination.

If the rte 7 and rte 3 intersect or overlap on any of their routes, you could request a stop there of the rte 7 bus and then wait for the rte 3 bus. Or you could take the rte 7 to the town green and pick up the rte 3 there.

The tender unloads at the harbor end of Main St at the town dock. There is no IE stop nearby; you must walk to the town green for pick up.
