Back 2 Back

Recommended Posts

We are sailing back 2 back on Mariner. We've never done a b/b. We are keeping the same cabin for both cruises.

My question is...we won't have to pack up will we on the last night of the first cruise.

Also...do we get off ship and re-embark? Does someone escort us off and back on?

Sorry...for silly questions..just curious how to handle this. Thanks. :)

no you leave your stuff inside the room but you have to leave the room at 800 am by 1030 am they will call the back to back guess to go to a lounge and what for a crew staff and then he will take you off the ship to gate your seapass card and then he will bring you back to the ship

We were told prior to our B2B last week that we would have to get off the ship and be escorted back on. This was not the case for us on Adventure. We went down to guest relations at 7am, closed out the first week's sea pass, activated the second week's sea pass, and returned to our cabin and slept until afternoon.

Had we wanted to tour San Juan, we could have, and we were given "In Transit" cards if we chose to do so, but we didn't want to.

Thanks for the information on the Adventure as we just booked a B2B yesterday. When we were on the Mariner in February for a B2B, we were told where and when to meet, were walked off and back on in about 20 minutes. No need to pack anything. It was fabulous to have the whole ship to yourself (and the other thirty or so people who were doing B2Bs). This time though we might do the rainforest trip on that day.

We did a B2B on Mariner a couple of Octs. ago. They will give you a printed info sheet a couple of nights before the end of the first week that tells you exactly what to do. Which is basically nothing. You do not pack, and you do not have to leave your room. Just wait until they call for the "in transits" to meet and be escorted off and back onto the ship. It's a breeze! Then you'll have the rest of the time to lay by the pool or do whatever until the "newbies" are allowed to board the ship. On some ships, you can not get into certain areas because doors are closed. But, we've never had a problem and love B2B's . Matter of fact, we're doing one on Freedom of the Seas this Oct.

Enjoy!

As you can see from the replies, different ships/ports do it different ways. On the Navigator in May in Barcelona, they just left our new seapass cards on the bed in the evening before 'departure day' with a letter that said if you are getting off the ship, please be off by 1030 and don't come back 'til 1200, or if staying on the ship, just use your new seapass card. As said, each leg of your b2b account has to be paid at the end of each leg, so be sure to check your account at the end of your first leg.

Can't wait to try this!. We are doing a b2b2b on the Navigator next April/May. We will use one of the returns to Barcelona as a port day and go to Monsterrat. Should be exciting...........

I have been told by others in this position that your room steward will help you move to your next room. You will have to pack the drawer stuff, but will just move it down the hall. You won't have to take it off the ship and back on. I'd let the 2nd room steward know on the night before so that he/she could have the 2nd room cleaned first.

Good luck

What is the procedure if you have a different cabin for the second half? Do you packed up and have to carry your bags off with you?

We did a B2B on Navigator and moved to a new room for the second half. We were told to pack everything and our steward would take it over but that didn't happen- when I asked her about it she said I had to move all our stuff so we just did it. WE had packed light anyway so it didn't take us long. When we got over to our new room the passengers were still in it so we left our suitcases in c/o our new steward. We didn't have to leave the ship.
