La Romana

I will be on the Grand Princess, which makes a stop at La Romana, in early February. This must be a brand new port for Princess because there are no excursions listed on their website. Has anyone been to La Romana and can offer some advice on what to do? Rather than shopping or touring the island, I would prefer to do something on the beach and/or snorkeling excursions.

Thank you.

Here is a link to my review of our beach day in la Romana

As I mentioned the snorkeling from the beach was poor but there were small boats that could take you to the reef if you wanted to go out. I forget what the price was because I didn't go.

We very much enjoyed our day.

Thank you very much for your informative reply. It sounds like a great day to spend on the beach and in the water. I travel solo so I don't like to venture out by myself in a place I don't know well. Iif Princess offers a short snorkeling excursions, I may do that and then head out to the beach. Thanks.
