ican Posted October 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Is there an age or height restriction for the waterslide on Carnival ships (particularly the Destiny)? I don't want to disappoint my 5-year-old.

JessiMommy Posted October 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2004 HI i believe they switched it to 48"" enforced I assume they won't let a smaller child go down with an adult??
newbie2cruise Posted October 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2004 No they will only allow one at a time :( I didnt want to go down it and iM 29, too high up at the tippy top of the ship. My son is 5 and i remember he couldnt go and he is 3'10 . Carnivals website has the exact measurements, but I believe 48 is correct
phroggie Posted October 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2004 We were on M.S. Ecstasy 2 months ago. Daughter is currently 46" but is seemed to me the marker was somewhat more than 48". Either way, they were very strict. Also they'll only let one at a time slide. Be aware that they go by the marker which may or may not be 48". neverenufcruising Posted October 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2004 I assume they won't let a smaller child go down with an adult?? Doesn't one of the Carnival commercials or brochures have a scene with a child sliding down with an adult? Maybe we should get together and start a class action suit against Carnival for false advertising :D :D :D
Trlbnd1 Posted October 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Another person that wants to sue because you cant get your way. Perhaps there was a change of policy for the SAFETY OF PASSENGERS AND USERS OF SAID WATERSLIDE? Let the flames begin...

mysticalblues Posted October 18, 2004 #12 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Does the slide go into a pool or does it just end it a straight away?
MrPete Posted October 18, 2004 #13 Share Posted October 18, 2004 Does the slide go into a pool or does it just end it a straight away? Depends on the ship. On the Destiny, it is a straight away.

elaineb Posted October 19, 2004 #18 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Thank God there's no age restriction! I'm a 48 yr old woman and you've probably heard me whooping all the way down! I really missed the slide on my RCCL cruise this summer.

Lovebirds Posted October 19, 2004 #21 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Is there a max size or age on the waterslides? How bout a Gramma with 4 years experience.. will they let me on the slide? Gramma or not... I am a kid @ heart!!:D As long as you're over 4ft tall, Grandma, you're OK to slide.:D On the Fascination last Sunday, one of the joints in the slide started to split open and there were a couple of buckets on the deck under it to catch the water that was spraying out. Probably should have been a weight restriction as well as the height restriction. There was a "you must be at least this tall" mark at the base of the ladder, but there was no one there to enforce it. There was an employee at the top at all times and I saw him send one kid back down.
mjpfm2 Posted October 20, 2004 #22 Share Posted October 20, 2004 :) this last week on the triumph,my friend went down the slide about three times each day with his three year old son infront of him. The guy at the slide enterance acted like the only thing he was worried about was the person getting out at the bottom before the next person got there.like i said- he had no problem. Thanks:cool: Mjpfm2
