Senga Posted April 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2004 Just a quick update. Everything is as wonderful as it was in October; food, staff, service all excellent. Happy to report that 99% of the old folks on board are wonderful! Heard they are changing the menus in September and are planning changes to the Captain’s Club to allow more perks for Elite members. When we boarded we would have been quicker in any of the regular lines as there were so many Founder/Elite guests. The Select/Elite cocktail party was wonderful but when we tried to go to the Captain’s Club cocktail party they were lined up for miles (slight exaggeration!) and we decided we didn’t need a free drink that badly. I won $95. at the casino, cashed in and ran. I finally found Danno’s waffle station – wonderful! Having dinner tonight at the Captain’s Table hosted by the Hotel Director so maybe I’ll scoop some more news. We are skipping a lot of the entertainment as it is identical to October but we need the rest. We spent the worst two weeks of our lives waiting for biopsy results which we got the day before departure. The good news is they caught it in time but I’m having a hysterectomy April 23rd. I’ll do a review when I get time.
debjac Posted April 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2004 Senga - thanks for posting and enjoy your cruise - good thoughts for your upcoming surgery. Quick question - the waffle station - where exactly is it? On the Century it was at the pool grill but the Infinity did not have one. We will be sailing the Summit April 16th - can't wait. Senga Posted April 6, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 6, 2004 The waffle station was in the Waterfall Cafe at the very back (aft) where they serve the sandwiches. The waffles are served during the hours of the breakfast buffet but they were not available on disembarkation day. We had lunch at the sandwich station often - it was wonderful, especially the chicken wrap! The omelette station also prepares fried eggs and they were perfect. Our ONLY complaint was the drinking water which was terrible. Had dinner at the Captain's table with the Hotel Director and he said it's because they have added more chlorine due to the number of viruses, SARs, etc. You will have a wonderful time on the Summit.
