travelswithmonkey Posted July 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2008 I am having a very difficult time attempting to book a cruise on the Saga Rose for Summer 2009. Nothing can be done online without a valid UK postal code. I have been able to phone their UK booking office, but on one I have talked to is authorized to make a booking for an overseas client. I leave my name and phone number (US) each time, but still no response. Does anyone in the US who has booked with Saga, have any advice? Thanks in advance,
Rare MMDown Under Posted July 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2008 We can buy Saga cruises in Australia, so there should be a US agent for their cruises. Saga Ruby Saga Holidays, Ltd Web: http://www.saga.co.uk/travel Email: reservations@saga.co.uk You might like to email them in the UK and ask who is their US agent? bcscot Posted July 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2008 I am not in the USA but the same applies in Canada. You cannot book through the UK office if you live in North America. There is an agent for Saga in the USA who handles all the North American bookings. I agree that the contact information is hard to find. I think that Saga want to keep their cruise experience a very 'British' one & although they are promoting their cruises in North America, they are keeping it low key so that the majority of passengers remain British, hence keeping the 'Britishness' of it that is essential to their style of cruise. It is, after all, a British Company which aims it's products at a British market, just like other companies do in Germany, Spain, Japan etc. Having said all that, I do not have the contact information available at the moment, but if no-one else provides it soon, I will be able to supply you with it a little later. Rare MMDown Under Posted July 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2008 I understand the US agent could be based in Boston.
Saga Ruby Posted July 19, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2008 Cruise & Tour Reservations are the only agency to handle Saga Cruises in the US. You can reach them at 800-343-0273. The agent I dealt with for Saga Rose is Lisa Finnegan whom I found quite easy to deal with. In the distant past, I dealt with a customer svc rep in the UK - their main office is in Folkestone. But for my cruise last August, I was referred to the above office. I hope you are able to use this information to book a cruise on Saga - I have 30 days on the seas with Saga and love the Saga Sisters. I'm actually a QE2 regular for summer Norway cruises. No longer an option next year. I prefer the mature ships and the mature passengers they cater to. She knew all the cabins available, and understood exactly what I wanted. I'm booked on the Saga Rose for 22 June, 2009. Thanks,
