Mark_K Posted April 10, 2004 #27 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Salty Dawg, In the spirit of shared experience, when my wife was pregnant with our our first child, I gained as much weight as she did. BethCarp Posted April 11, 2004 #28 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Salty Dawg, I'm not trying to start a debate here and hijack the thread. I'm reminded of the Frasier episode from two weeks ago when Niles and Daphne were out with another expectant couple. The man kept saying he had sympathy pains and wished he could go through labor for his wife. If my husband ever said anything like to me.....something would hit the fan. Now, I don't know if you are a man or a woman. The sensitivities are nice, but men do not go through the same thing as their pregnant wives. "We are expecting" is fine. But, I do take offense at "we are pregnant." Folgy, thanks for the well wishes. We'll have to cruise together sometime. I'll leave my kids at home. Salty Dawg Posted April 11, 2004 #29 Share Posted April 11, 2004 BethCarp, Being a wife I realize the importance of my husband's contribution to our marriage. Without his love, compassion & support it wouldn't be much of a relationship. Each day I give thanks that he is a part of my life & that we are able to share our joys & sorrows together!
