Water Island

Honeymoon Cove is great. From the ferry it is a short walk up and over the hill. it's a small beach not very crowded. There is a small food stand there and the woman who runs it has great food. There is also a pizza boat that stops by. It's a fun easy trip. Especially from Crown Bay.;)

We have been to Water Island on our own. We took a ferry from Tickle's restaurant at Crown Bay. Once we got to Water Island, it was about a half mile walk to Honeymoon Beach. When we were there, we were the only ones there! It is a nice beach and the water is very clear and calm. We got some sandwiches at Tickle's and carried a cooler of drinks. It was a good thing because since nobody was there, there was nobody selling anything for us to get!

Regular ferry between Crown Bay Marina and Water Island. (Note, its from Crown Bay Marina and not the Crown Bay cruise ship dock - they are close to each other however, walking distance.)

From ferry area to Honeymoon Bay is a short walk up hill, not very steep, and then downhill - a little steep but short.

Honeymoon Bay is usually very quiet, water is calm, nice shade under the palm trees. If Heidi is there with her food van then she has drinks and lunch, usually she is there around noon to 2pm. Joe's Beach Bar is a small bar that usually opens around noon during season and around 2pm in off season. Closed on Mondays during offseason. It's a good idea to bring some drinks and snacks with you just in case. Don't think the Pizza Boat is operating there right now.

Does anyone have any pictures of honeymoon cove? This sounds just what we are looking for. A nice quiet place to relax and maybe look for shells on the beach if there are such a thing in St. Thomas. Even a little dip in the warm waters might be good. Can you tell me if Carnival Victory docks at this location in November? Please tell me yes. Please?

Check a Water Island guide for photos of Honeymoon Bay. Try http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=water+island+guide&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8. Collecting shells from beaches in the USVI is illegal. The water at Honeymoon is lovely for a little swimming and cooling off. Carnival ships usually dock in Havensight, you can take a taxi to Crown Bay Marina for the Water Island ferry.

Islander, what do you think of Emerald Beach? We've done Megan's, Sapphire, and Secret Harbor. Someone recently posted that Secret Harbor no longer rents lounges. Are these available at Emerald Beach? I was planning to return to Secret Harbor in Oct., but may need to try a new spot.

Emerald is a pretty beach, usually very calm water, not known for snorkeling, it does have a watersports booth with various things like kayaks, a couple beach bars/restaurants are beach front for drinks/food, chairs are available for rent.
