jimbug Posted October 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Being the picky eater that I am, I was perusing through some online scans of previous Carnival menus, and was having a hard time putting together a meal of things I like on some of the nights. Does Carnival have "always-available" selections like other lines? (i.e., burgers, garden salads, grilled chicken breast, etc.) Yes, I know, I can go to the buffet or the supper club or order room service :-) ...but I was just curious about the dining room offerings. Thanks!!
sea_u_onboard Posted October 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2004 You can get chicken or New York Strip just for asking. Also you can have anything they are serving in the buffet - just for asking. You still get to enjoy the dining experience.

cali-croozer Posted October 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2004 I've never had a waiter offer these things, even when somebody at our table was having trouble finding something on the menu. I'm thinking the steak and potato would be good for my kids on a few of the nights (better than ordering a cheeseburger). Do I just ask?
jleq Posted October 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2004 I've never had a waiter offer these things, even when somebody at our table was having trouble finding something on the menu. Usually my waiter points out (generally only once) that they're on the menu daily. And those foods are on the bottom of your menu each day. You mentioned your kids. I have no idea how old they are...but I want to say there is a specific "children's menu".
sea_u_onboard Posted October 19, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Forgot - Caesar salad also.
judyjbest Posted October 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Yes, I think they only have told us the first day in the dining room, and then expect us to remember. I think it may also be in small print on each day's menu. Have a great cruise!
wwakla Posted October 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2004 Just ask! The couple we traveled with had a few times where they did not care for one thing or another. When she said there was nothing she liked on the menu I said I thought you told me just ask they will most likely get it for you. She asked and they got it. My kids are teenagers so they've outgrown the children's menu, but we will definitely ask for those items on the nights when they can't find anything else--I think there were only 1 or 2 nights when they weren't sure what to get.... cruising3times Posted October 19, 2004 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2004 My teenage son usually orders a steak and baked potato every night for dinner. Though it is not on the menu, he has always been able to order it.
Rare dickinson Posted October 20, 2004 #11 Share Posted October 20, 2004 Never knew this info til a couple of years ago. Have never noticed in on the menu and no waiter ever mentioned it to us or anyone else at our table.
