Atty Posted July 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I'm trying to come up with as many reasons as I can in my comments section on my blog entry about loving cruising at http://www.lvatty.wordpress.com to try and push more traffic over back here to these forums. Thanks.
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted July 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2008 Good luck on your project. I hope lots of people respond. What I love about cruising is being on the ocean. That includes the beauty of entering ports and leaving ports. It is especially cool if the moon is full during the cruise.
Darkwolfe Posted July 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2008 There's nothing like being at sea, even for just a few days. Just standing on the deck watching the waves go by, I understood why my grandfather spent over 30 years as a radio officer in the Merchant Marine service. That, and I'm headed to places that were completely out of my reach a few years ago. It's an amazing way to get your viewpoint on the world changed in a short period of time. Ya, you're playing tourist and looking through these places that are much different than where you live, but at the same time, you know there are people living and working day to day lives. Just as you do back home.
fungirl76 Posted July 27, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2008 I love crusing for so many reasons. The price outbeats any land vacation There is nothing like standing on your balcony watching the sun set There is nothing more breathtaking then having the sun in your face, blue skies and blue waters surrounding you. There are so many activities that you will always be entertained The food is great People are soo friendly on cruises You relax once you step onboard You get to visit numerous wonderful places throughout your cruise Lastly, I love cruising b/c you will always have another booked after you get home. PattyG12 Posted July 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2008 I love being waited on while I have a "foo foo" drink by the pool. I just love being spoiled!
AllieInMD Posted July 27, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2008 Because you can visit X countries/islands in Y days and never have to unpack/pack but once. You don't have to do any traveling (planes/trains/taxis) between destinations, you go to sleep in one and wake up in another. The level of service is consistent throughout the trip - you only have to tell one waiter and one room steward what you like/don't like instead of multiple hotels. cb at sea Posted July 28, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 28, 2008 The ship is a destination unto itself, but you get the added benefit of visiting different places! Aside from the small cabin sizes (which is why we book JS's!), it's just like any good resort should be!

big al Posted July 28, 2008 #13 Share Posted July 28, 2008 From my Cruise manual,"Big Al's Quick Guide To Cruising": Why do so many people cruise and love cruising? Simple:cruising is popular because it takes you away from the pressures and strains of comtemporary life.Cruise ships are really self-contained resorts, without crime, which can take you to several destinations in just a few days.Cruising offers you and your family a wide variety of fun, entertainment, destinations, and romance…even the children, and teens,yes,teens-will enjoy cruising especially if you choose the right cruise line or ship. Compared to most land destinations, cruises offer you much better value for your money. For a start, your initial fare includes your accommodation, main meals and all your snacks, room service, entertainment, lectures, social functions, participation events, movies AND use of the ship’s facilities, including the Gym and fitness center, casino (don’t have to be a member for either),and perhaps air tickets and transfers to get to and from your cruise ship. The hassles of a land based vacation are completely eliminated in one very neat package-and you only have to unpack once! Hope this helps.....

Arizona Laura Posted July 28, 2008 #15 Share Posted July 28, 2008 Where else can you literally "sail into the sunset"? Just like my screen name. Ocean..Sky..Breeze. Put those 3 together and you have a little bit of heaven. Give me a balcony, a foo foo drink, some laughter, and I'm set. Laura
