Cruise or Land Vacation?

The next place to go on my families list is Australia. We have cruised and done land vacations before and love both. We're a family of four ages 52, 53, 18, and 24. We have cruised 3 times before (twice on carnival, once on celebrity) to the caribbean, alaska, and the med. We were wondering if anyone who has maybe been to Australia, cruising or not could tell us which method they believe is the best to expeirience Australia?
