We are sending my ILs on an Alaskan cruise this sept (their FIRST cruise EVER!!). I want to have a bottle of champagne delivered to their stateroom for sailaway. I looked at HALs site but couldn't find a list of Champagnes - can anyone help me out?

Thanks

Kathy

If you download the fax-able order form you'll find a "Bon Voyage" package (champagne, balloon, ribbons) under Celbration Packages for $21.45. Under the Wine and Beverage you'll find Mumm Cordon Rouge ($70.15), Veuve Clicot (101.20) and Cuvee Dom Perignon for $253.

I found it!

Thanks!

Edit: Guess I typed too slowly! :)

it's also nice to order flowers for the cabin...they last all week and aren't that expensive. or order chocolate-covered strawberries for sail away. HAL has a nice sail-away package with champagne for a reasonable price. Or, depending on their interests, order a soda card, or casino credits, a night at the Pinnacle Grill, etc. Lots of choices. Nice birthday, anniversary, holiday, etc. presents during the year to lead up to the cruise. That's what we do for friends/family, and they really appreciate it. And we have fu wrapping up "hints" on the gift. Nice of you to consider sending something.

I don't know if it depends on the cabin, but on the last two cruises where I ordered the sailaway package with champagne or white wine, it was delivered to the cabin unchilled with the appropriate glasses. A request to the cabin steward or a call to room service should rectify this, but it does take a bit of time to get the bevearge to a drinkable temperature.

It seems to be the norm anymore -- the champagnes and wines are delivered to the cabin and just put on display with the gift card.

To be honest -- the majority of the time the wine stewards go around very early in the morning and begin to deliver the gifts and free champagnes and wines.

We get a free bottle of champagne from the captain and hotel manager as well as a free bottle from AMEX Plat -- one is in the ice bucket. By the time we get to our suite, the little bit if ice that was placed in the bucket has already melted.
