Anyone Booked With Ncl's Current Promo And Whadya Get?

I was checking out the NCL PROMO (Through August 17) and it's up to a 3 catagory upgrade and up to $400 per stateroom credit. You could book a cruise to be taken in a time period in 2008 to 2010. I was wondering if anyone booked and what did you end up with? I noticed only certain catagories got upgrades. Just wondering if you got a decent deal.

Thanks,

Sandy

We were about to book the Gem and had held a mini-suite cabin for Aug 2009.

When we got the e-mail with this promo, we forwarded it to my TA and she called NCL and they kept the price the same but added a $150.00 On Board Credit.

If we had taken an outside with balcony and an inside (we are a family of 4) they offered a $100 OBC on the balcony cabin and a $50 OBC on the ionside. The price they gave us for the balcony remained the same but the price for the inside went up $30pp so we lost $10 on the inside. But we did get $100 for the balcony while the price remained the same so altogether we did $90 better.

Hope this helps.

by the way...we took the $150.00 OBC and the mini suite.

I called NCL about this sale also - We are booked on the Majesty in January, and the price went up so they couldn't do anything (not even any OBC). We are going on the Pearl in early Dec 2009 and asked about the BA cabins - all they could offer was $50 OBC (the same or less than on-line agents) and no upgrades for that cruise.

When you look on NCL's site, it will tell you when it lists all the cruise dates if the upgrades are available for that sailing. For the Pearl, nothing in Dec. 2009 but upgrades available right after New Year. I was surprised on that, with the ships usually being quiet between Thanksgiving and Christmas. For this one, we may have to wait for the next 'sale'.

Good luck!

My TA contacted NCL about our already booked April 09 Pearl cruise and got us the $150 OBC (penthouse). We already were thrilled with our price (which has since gone up BTW) and the additional OBC is just icing on the cake:D .

I'm actually on the phone with my TA right now (on hold) asking about this. I'm booked on the 10/31 sailing on the Sky and I just upgraded our reservation from an oceanview to a balcony the other day, so she's checking to see if I qualify.

EDIT: Apparently the promotion was in effect when I changed the booking and while my sailing isn't eligible for the upgrades (plus I'm already on the highest deck to begin with) I already got the OBC promotion... she just didn't know it until she looked it up today. It's a short sailing, so it's only $25 per person but hey, $50 is better than nothing!

are these all new bookings or already booked cruises?

We are booked 9/27/08, in your opinion do I have a shot at OBC? :)

Thanks

No these are not all new bookings. If you look at this thread, and the other one referenced, many people have gotten them. Personally, I'm getting them as well for myself and my group.:D I'm just waiting for final confirmation on amounts. "You gotta be in it, to win it!" Call your TA and good luck!!:)

I gave it the "'ol college try", but as I suspected because we had rebooked under the last sale, neither of our B2B's qualified, according to our TA. We did get a really, really good deal on that last promo, however. Still, a little OBC would have been nice, but NO DICE... :(

For my Alaska sailing they gave me $150obc for booking a penthouse..I was alread booked before the sale but they still gave me the obc.

How did you get this OBC for something you already had booked?

Am I missing something?

Or better yet, I'm not missing something and I too can get an OBC after the fact....

What is it that you did, that enabled you to get this OBC, after you had already booked this cruise? Enquiring minds want to know!!

Had already booked but was well before final payment and sale qualified. Some do not.

Same here - booked before the sale started but through a great TA they got us an OBC. I just shot him an e-mail, asked if we qualified and within 30 minutes got an e-mail back saying that our sailing qualified for the OBC:D .

We had to cancel my 14-day TA in April 09 for a family renunion cruise in Nov 09. So instead we'll take a 7-day Caribbean cruise on the Dawn in Feb 09.

We got an AFT BA upgraded from BD, saving $70 ppax, and $50 OBC. Not that much of a savings, but the Aft was key for us and $50 will go toward a wonderful evening at Le Bistro.

Now I have to change roll calls!

We just booked through NCL and got upgraded from BD to BA and got $50 per cabin credit. I guess the $400 must be for the suites only.

We booked spur of the moment for a Christmas cruise. Our sons are at university in Ontario and Quebec and we are living on the West Coast in our vacation home while we wait for our new home to be finished. We weren't up to pulling out Christmas stuff and cramming everyone in here. We had looked at all-inclusives and for the 4 of us, the price was edging over $12,000 for a week plus we were really having problems with air connections to Cancun because so many charters were full. On a whim, I checked NCL and got the Spirit out of New Orleans. All in, it will be under $9000.

And, no matter how much people gripe about the food and how long it takes to get reservations to a specialty restaurant on NCL, it sure beats the food and the early morning reservation lines at the all-inclusives.

Price dropped $186 on our BA on the Star in November. We kept the same stateroom, etc. Also got an OBC.

Hi OceanDreaming2...I was trying to get some information on your Hawaiian Beach wedding. Did you use Mrs Minister? How did everything go? I am planning an Ohau wedding in December 2008. Thanks so much!

I just called NCL and didn't get anything. No upgrade, no OBC. We booked in June and I was told that we were not in the sale booking window AND our category (AF) wouldn't qualify even if we booked today. I'm going to try calling our Cruise Rewards Specialist on Monday and see if that helps.

Our 2009 cruise costs a few hundred dollars less than this years did so we're happy with that anyway. And besides, we're going back to Bermuda.

Good luck to everyone in getting your upgrades/OBC's.
