MSUSpartan Posted October 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2004 Booked the Jewel for 2/26/05 Eastern Caribbean cruise. We've got balcony room 8106 (E2). Anyone know anything about this room (or similar ones)? Is the view good? Weather's starting to get cold here in Michigan, so we're getting very excited (this is our 4th cruise). GO GREEN! GO WHITE! German Wunderkind Posted October 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2004 Hi! You booked a great ship. :) We have been on her very first cruise. I really enjoy the Radiance class ships. We have been on Deck 8 (8628) during our Panama Canal cruise on the Radiance. There is enough space in the room and on the balcony for two people. You will find a small couch which seats two people and a small table inside and two chairs and a small table on the balcony. Compared to the Explorer, which we both know, the balcony is similar in size but because of the glass which is used instead of steel much friendlier and not so dark. The bathroom has a similar size as well. On deck 8 you are a little bit above the lifeboat cover so you will be able so see more of the ocean. Deck 9 is standing out a little bit more than Deck 8 so no one will be able to see directly down on your balcony. We liked Deck 8 so we booked it again for the Transatlantic. It is close to the Centrum and the elevators there and it s half way between the entertainment and the pool Deck. Hope the information helps. If you need more I’ll be happy to answer your questions. Ohh, one more thing: 8106 is right behind the port side bump so your view to the front might be blocked a little. Happy cruising

ChrisMak Posted May 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2016 How was this cabin MSUSpartan?
Coralc Posted May 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Welcome to Cruise Critic Chris! :D Since the thread you found is from 12 years ago, it is possible that MSUSpartan may not remember the cabin or may not be around. :D There is a newer thread on cabins located here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1223724 And I will also add that deck 8 staterooms on the Jewel are very nice. They are higher above the annoying lifeboat covers. (deck 7).
