cruiserdru Posted August 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2008 In July of 1998, we went on a Western Caribbean 7-day cruise with my brother-in-law and his wife. I am unable to find anything that shows what ship I was on. I have RCL glasses, a robe and several pictures but nothing that has the name of the ship. Can anyone help?? Mango Mike Posted August 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2008 You might want to supply us with additional information and/or pictures. From what you described in your OP, it could be one of numerous ships. Posting some pictures of the ship would be the greatest help, especially pictures with views of the exterior. Mark_K Posted August 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Grandeur was sailing the Caribbean in the summer of 1998, find some pictures of her and see if it looks like anything you have.

I am unable to find anything that shows what ship I was on. I have RCL glasses, a robe and several pictures but nothing that has the name of the ship. Can anyone help?? It was probably Majesty of the Seas, which was sailing 7 day Western Caribbean from Miami at that time.
Linda/Ohio Posted August 7, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 7, 2008 I believe the Enchantment was doing the 7 day Eastern, then 7 day Western that year. Can you describe the ship....
PhoenixCruiser Posted August 7, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Grandeur was sailing the Caribbean in the summer of 1998, find some pictures of her and see if it looks like anything you have. Grandeur would be my guess as well. OP - was it a newer ship? ###
crusinmama06 Posted August 7, 2008 #10 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Well I can tell you what it wasn't, it wasn't Sovereign because that ship was doing 5 days - Bahamas with stops at Nassau and CoCoCay. :) The Vision class was launched in the 90's, so it could be one of them too. spbflseas Posted August 7, 2008 #11 Share Posted August 7, 2008 My guess would be Enchantment. She was doing 7-night Caribbean cruises at that time.

Wild Bill Posted August 7, 2008 #15 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Is this like a "Where is Waldo" game? :) I'll guess Grandeur if it was a new ship. If it had one of those "tween decks" off the shoping area, than I'll guess Majesty. KT

vickiw0318 Posted August 7, 2008 #18 Share Posted August 7, 2008 Wasn't the Monarch - she was sailing out of San Juan. P.S. I doubt seriously if my DH could tell you what ships he's been on. I am the cruise addict in my family and he's just happy to go along.

RCCLCARIB Posted August 8, 2008 #21 Share Posted August 8, 2008 We did the Majesty Western in Aug. 88 from Miami. In 1988, Majesty of the Seas was still in the design phase. I believe you maybe confusing the Majesty with her sister ship, Sovereign of the Seas, which made her debut in 1988.

If you look at DPurcell58's signature I believe you will see this was most likely a typo and he/she meant 1998.
SomeBeach Posted August 8, 2008 #24 Share Posted August 8, 2008 If it was a brand new ship and somewhat large (for the time), Vision was launched in May, '98. If it was a small ship, we already know that Mon '91 was in SJ. Leaves Sov '88 or Maj '92 as possibilities.

If it was a small ship, we already know that Mon '91 was in SJ. Leaves Sov '88 or Maj '92 as possibilities. The Sovereign Class ships and the Vision Class ships are similar in size. I doubt that anybody could tell the size difference by just looking at them. As a matter of fact: the Sovereign Class ships have 12 decks and the Vision Class ships only 11.
