Sights Close to Barcelona

Have an extra day in Barcelona after cruise and hopefully before cruise saw what I wanted in Barcelona. Is there anything outside the city to see, any cute towns, good beaches or other sighs. Any imput would be appreciated.

Santa Maria de Montserrat, of course. there is simply no way one can understand or appreciate Gaudi's work without seeing the mountains around this monastery.

 

three are many other interesting places in Catalonia, but if there is only time for one, this is it.

We rented a car and drove to Andorra, the tiny independent country up in the Pyrenees between Spain and France. It's about a 2 - 2.5 hour drive depending on which route you take.
