Are pools open while in port?

We have not cruised for some time and wondered if the pools are open if we choose to stay on the ship while in port.

Also, what is the pool temperature like? Last time we cruised (many years ago) I seem to remember the pools being very cold as they were freshly filled every day.

Can anyone help?

We are going on the Imagination in November.

Yes, all the pools and hot tubs are open when in port. The pools are filled with sea water so that is the pool temperature. The hot tubs are not sea water and are chlorinated and heated of course.

The pools are filled with filtered sea water so the temperature will be that of the water the ship is floating in. The hot tubs are fresh chlorinated water.

 

We have stayed onboard during a port day on a few occasions. I don't think all of the pools were open but atleast one was. Perhaps this could be due to the condition of the water in a given port but I really do not know. All the hot tubs were open though so you can still enjoy a nice relaxing day sunning on deck with a place to get wet.

We usually get back onboard an hour or two before we have to and hang out by the pool and yes they are open. As for the hot tubs, they aren't really "hot", more warm.

That's the best part of staying onboard on a port day. Have the pool virtually to yourself.

 

I'll be doing just that when we anchor at Grand Cayman in January.:)

For me its the best time to use the Lido deck and pools and hot tubs is when the ship is in port.

I agree. Many times I've stayed on the ship when at ports. It's actually the only time I get into a pool or hot tub.
