Floatplane or Helicopter, Denali or on Cruise

We are booked on the for Aug 24 to Sep 5th on Celebrity Cruisetour, and was wondering about doing a floatplane or helicopter ride. Which area to do it, on the cruise or Denali or Talkeetna. Also we are interested in Raft Float trip at Talkeetna or Nenana Wildreness or Nenana Whitewater Rafting in Denali? Which one? Thanks so much sue.

We were on the July 30 sailing of Carnival Spirit and loved it. We took Coastal helicopters for the glacier - dogsledding in Juneau and it was incredible. The neatest thing I've ever done.

Other ideas:

Vancouver - Capilano suspension and treehouse suspension bridges

Ketchikan - ziplining

Sitka - kayaking

Skagway - train is nice if you haven't done a narrow gauge elsewhere

heard yellow trolley type vehicles in Skagway are good

ranger, Caroline, gave great info on walk around Skagway

My flightseeing preference are the glacier helicopter landings, having done all of your list. However, McKinley summit flights are spectacular and likely your only chance to see the mt.

 

It may also depend on your flying experience, of what to choose. Overall, flights are excellent in Alaska and nothing shows the vastness like it does from above. Consider more than one flight perhaps. They are well worth it.

 

For rafting, definately the Nenana is more fun, if you get a white rapids. Be certain you verify what type it is. Out of Talkeetna, it's so so for me.
