cruisehappy27 Posted August 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2008 Okay here's the deal...we are sailing out of Port Canaveral in January. We have rented a car to drive from the Airport to the Port and have also rented a car to drive back from the port to Disney World. Here is my question: we will only have Saturday (the day we arive back in Port Canaveral) to see as much of Disney as possible so we want to be as time efficient as possible. To rent a car for 26 hours (saturday10am-sunday 12pm, because it counts as two days) is incredibly expensive. We are staying at Disney so we could take their shuttle to the airport later and therefore don't really need a car except to get to Disney from the port. Is there a shuttle or another option that we could consider to pick us up at the port and take us to Disney?? Is this time efficient or should we just keep the rental car and suck up the cost?? Thanks for your help, this is our first trip anywhere so we are really getting confused.
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2008 Maybe if you copy and paste your question on the North American Departures area, Florida departures you might get some nibbles. EM
DanJ Posted August 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2008 Why not just rent the car for the drive from the port, return it, and take the shuttle to Disney? I mean, if they run a shuttle to the airport from Disney, logic says they have to run it back to Disney?
LostAgain Posted August 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2008 Before assuming that you can use Disney's shuttle to the airport, just call to check. Recently they told me I could not use it because, although I was a Disney property guest, I did not book my airline through them as part of a package deal that included the shuttle. househunter Posted August 17, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2008 I would call a a few more car rental agencies for quotes. We have always found that that rental rates in Florida are some of the cheapest in the country. We are renting for $32/day for our trip next spring and that includes everything. Even if it was a little higher at $40/day that would still only be around $80 and I don't think you are going to find a shuttle plus your transportation to disney and then back to the airport for cheaper than that. Anyone staying at a WDW on site property, no matter how they book their air is eligible for Disney's Magical Express Transfers.
LostAgain Posted August 17, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2008 I thought so, but when I called to check, I was told no. Maybe it's because I will be staying as a guest at my friend's Disney time share, not in a WDW hotel room?
