Just Returned from Majesty of the Seas

My whole family just returned from the 4 day cruise on the Majesty of the Seas. This is my 10th time on the Majesty of the Seas. 1st time since the renovation. The ship is beautiful. The changes are great. The beds are awesome but of course the cabins are still too small. Weather was 95 and sunny everyday. The grandchildren had a ball in CocoCay and Nassau. We rented a day pass at the Wydham Hotel in Nassau highly recommend it. Has a water slide, great pool, great beach and includes lunch all for only 40.00. 10 minute cab ride. PERFECT DAY.

Love that the ship has Johnny Rockets now. Crew was awesome and remember me from the last time. I leave on the Explorer to Bermuda in 20 more days so I can't wait because now I won't go through cruise withdrawl knowing I am going in 20 days. I love the Explorer of the Seas.

The only think I don't understand is why didn't they put in a Conceige Club on the Majesty when they redid her. You can notice right away the new carpet beautiful. The pools were awesome. The oceans everywhere were like bath water. I love my sea days so I missed that as we are in port everyday so it was rough with the little ones getting up and getting off the ship every day to go to the beach. I am so tired.

Well I am smart this time - I washed my clothes and just repacked them and I am already to go again. Nice and easy right?

Anyway I highly recommend this cruise specially for the price. We only paid 340.00 per person for an outside cabin. I usually go on this ship twice a year just to get away and the ports are awesome.

Where did you get the day pass, in the hotel? It is $40pp?

I am in a countdown for August 29 Majesty, looking for what to do in Nassau.

Yes the day pass is 40.00 per person and worth every penny.

The hotel is awesome. It's next to Cable Beach.

Everything you want is right there. You can stay the whole day.

Includes chairs, towels, tubes, mats, etc. FOOD.

You should really go there as in Nassau you have to go somewhere as it's not a place to walk around - the Atlantis was 105.00 per person and I think this was much better.

Take a cab soon as you walk out of the terminal and ask to go to the Wydaham Hotel and Casino (spelt it wrong still tired)

I suspect that although they can renovate, they can't create space. There really just is no place to put one.

For about $20 more per person, 4 people can get a room at the Comfort Suites across the street from Atlantis and get passes to everything on the Atlantis property.

Just another option. :)

I hear you -- being in port every day does drain your energy if you stay up late at night. Even so, I'd much rather be doing that right now than sitting here in Alaska. Don't get me wrong; I love the unique adventures here too, but I simply can't get enough of the Caribbean.

I didn't have the pleasure of seeing the Majesty originale, so I can't fully appreciate the changes, but I've heard enough about them and can vouch that she's a lovely cozy ship. The one thing I didn't like about her was that her size (or lack thereof) made it easier for one to feel the motion effects of the sea. Each morning I woke up feeling a little uneasy in the stomach. After my shower and getting something to eat, I generally felt better.

Speaking of food, who was your dining room waiter?

That's exactly what we did and had a blast! I wouldn't mind doing that again. Or shopping at the straw market outside the pier and down the road. I go it more for the haggling than the actual items. It seems that everyone has set prices that they'll go down to, but it is possible to pit one against the other and get steeper discounts if you play your cards right. :D

It seems to be a nice option. What is "everything"?

Question about the ship...I've noticed a few threads of some people complaining about a sewer smell on Majesty. Some say they smell nothing though. What decks do you usually stay on? Have you ever had this issue? We were on Deck 4 on Sovereign and didn't have any problems like that. Just curious!

I was in a balcony room and I never noticed a smell! I was on Majesty last year (huge review is on these boards somewhere lol) and I really loved it. GREAT value for the price!

We did the Dolphin Swim at Blue Lagoon instead of going to Comfort Suites but I was on the fence (it was just me and my hubby). He had been to Atlantis before though and said it wasn't all that great. I think it is probably great fun for those with children though. :)

Wow, there should be a special reward for having Diamond Status on an individual ship! My only cruise on her was after the rennovation, so I have no comparison. What appeals to you about her? Have you been on other RCI ships?

Hmmmmm... Wonder how one could explain the addition of Sorrento's, Latté-tudes, Boleros, and Johnny Rocket's? Re-allocation of space maybe? Just a guess. ;)

5th Majesty cruise next week, August 25! First time since renovations.

We were on deck 2 back in April, and I never noticed any foul smells at all. :)
