I've found that it's even frowned upon to wear your swiwsuit around town (ie. off the beach) without a coverup. (Tourists do sometimes, but virtually never locals.) It's a very conservative island...

jean-lynd is quite correct in stating topless sunbathing is illegal on Cayman's beaches.

 

And to expand upon bookbabe's post, swimwear is not appropriate attire for anywhere but the beach or pool. Please cover up before going into any indoor restaurant (even Burger King) no matter how casual the restaurant may be.
